I’m experiencing this with multiple family members. With one, it’s early stages but the loved one denies a problem and grows angry with anyone who expresses concern. They claim we are slandering them.
The other loved one is further along, lives far away, and refuses to move to a care home.

Thanks for sharing. You might want to check out my online program on guardianship. Not saying you should be the one who takes this responsibility but perhaps someone in the family. my parents moved away in a RV 30 years ago and they enjoyed traveling and settled in Yuma Arizona had not seen them for 15 years and then Dad got Cancer and I got the call and went there and my Dad was in his last stage of life. My one week turned into a 4 month stay Mom had dementia and wasn't diagnosed yet. It was through COVID years and dad didn't want us to know. She thought I was an intruder in her house in the evening but knew me in the mornings. We went to see Dad every day. He passed 2 months after I arrived. Thankfully I took her to many Dr appts where she was diagnosed with dementia later stages. I had no choice but to place her in a memory care center after she started to physically abused me. I got POA and had to sell their house and car to pay for care. She loves the memory care center I placed her in and thinks she is living in a Mansion and says she doesn't know what she would have done without me. If I would have known sooner and Dad didn't hide it from me I would have been more prepared for this. It's been a crash course on aging parents.

My dad has always been very sharp. He's a retired school teacher. He recently turned 83. He got up one morning at 2am, made himself breakfast, and got ready for work. I was perplexed. I had to remind him that he's been retired for 20 years and it's 2am. Idk if it was just a weird one time thing or if this is the beginning of the end
