Your video is perfect. I can see and understand your stitches. You go at the right speed to work with you. See the difficult parts you work through let's me know I am doing it right. Thank you. Looks difficult but so easy. Basic stitches make something so pretty. Thank you.
Loved this pattern! I made a big one for our family room in the exact yarn you used. Then I made a baby one in a ombre pink with a much smaller hook so there weren't quite so many places for baby fingers to get tangled. Thanks for sharing this pattern.
Thank you so much Amanda. SUPER EASY to follow your demo. Yours was so well explained and clearly shown step by step. Would love to see a larger diamond on a small swatch for a panel in a blanket. Thanks again. Paula 🇮🇪
I’m making 12” by 12” squares for a blanket with each square a different stitch, and one square is this stitch, I totally love it. Thank you for sharing.
this looks like just what I need for a batch of self striping yarn I plan to work up. Colorway is black/3 grays/white. It is a worsted (4) weight. Hopefully it will work up well using this stitch. This is an excellent tutorial. PSA: I recently discovered we can slow the speed on these videos. That is a huge help!!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have been trying to follow a written pattern for this and it wouldn't turning out right. I love the technique for the turning chain too. You have won a new fan
Beautiful! In the sample here; you chained 20 then you said you end up with 19 and in the blanket you end up with 99. In the swatch, you keep 19 all the time ( plus the one you have in the hook, but you work on 19 ??
Amanda! This blanket is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I was looking for a blanket model to make for my mother, now I found it!!! Will there be a PDF download pattern available on Ravelry? Thanks!
I used a ribbed border for mine that went well with the Diamond stitch pattern. If I didn’t include the border in this tutorial there is a separate tutorial for it on my channel as well.
It can but the nature of the front post treble crochet will be a little bit noticeable since you use double crochet for the wrong side and a combination of single crochet and front post treble 2 together to create the diamond pattern, reaching down into the rows below.
This works for either. For the smaller size the 100 chains is the longer side, and for the larger size keep working until the 100 chains is the shorter side.
Thanks for your video! I'm trying to figure a couple of things out on it. After you do the front post stitch and start doing the single crochet behind them, why do you skip one chain? Or are you actually skipping the one that already has a stitch coming out of it?
You skip one because the post stitches take up the space of that one stitch. They aren't directly attached to it, since they are working around the posts of other stitches, but if you sc behind it you would add one stitch for every post stitch. I hope that makes sense! :)
Ok so I should not be having a gap in the single crochet then right? Because the stitch I skipped looks like a big long chain loop at the top compared to the rest of the chain loops at the top.
Yes that's normal if you're talking about the top of your fptr2tog. That large loop will be grabbed by the post stitches in the next right side row. I know it looks a bit weird but mine was that way, too.
@@lovelifeyarn I've finished that first row for starting the diamond pattern. However, when I got to the end, I had to shorten one diamond so it wouldn't be right at the end... so instead of skipping three,I had to skip two. And I can't figure out why the end of the row is wavy looking, like uneven. I may need to frog it all??
Some people have found that they need an extra stitch at the end to make it look more even. I'm not sure why it ends up that way, but try working one extra stitch and work a sc into it on right side rows and a dc when you work the wrong side rows (the turning ch will count) and see if that helps make it look more even.

Finally someone I can understand, and can now dk this pattern ❤

How do you slow the speed of the videos?
Hit the little gear at the bottom and you can change the playback speed.
Thank you so much for sharing this stitch with us! I know I for one appreciate the time you took to me
Glad it was helpful!

I'm so glad you found it helpful! Thanks so much!
Currently on the hook with Mandala Ombre in Zen colorway. Amazingly squishy. Thank you for the pattern and tutorial!

Very very pretty!!! I put it on my must do list!!! I love it❤️
Yay!! So glad to hear you like it - it's one of my favorite patterns so far :)
Beautiful ❤️, can't wait to try this
This is so pretty! I want to try but I’m scared I’m gonna mess up 😩😩
My grandson picked this pattern for his blanket I am making him
Very beautiful.
Oh my, that is beautiful ❤️ thanks for sharing
So glad you like it! I love the way it turned out
This pattern was so much easier than the other diamond patterns I found! Thank you! Do you think it would look good with a chenille yarn?
I love the beginning double it looks so nice. I will always do it this way Great video been wanting to make this stitch. Thank you.
What a pretty stitch! Thank you for sharing! 🐰🐰

How many chains should I start for a larger blanket?
Row 5 start: 11:12
Row 7 start: 14:16
For the foundation row seems like you can do a foundation sc of 99 to get started?
11:03 row 4
What color is the scarfie yarn you are using , I can only find black , cream and gray
Oh boy, I ve started this blanket several times or more. I can't see where rows 4 through 7 start and end. Can you guide me?
Amanda! This blanket is absolutely gorgeous 😍 I was looking for a blanket model to make for my mother, now I found it!!! Will there be a PDF download pattern available on Ravelry? Thanks!
Yes there will be one up on Monday :)
@@lovelifeyarn yeah! I’ll be buying it 😁
Thank you for the tutorial. I am almost finished making this for my daughter for Christmas but I think it neess a border.. any suggestions? please.
I used a ribbed border for mine that went well with the Diamond stitch pattern. If I didn’t include the border in this tutorial there is a separate tutorial for it on my channel as well.
Can this pattern include color changes?
It can but the nature of the front post treble crochet will be a little bit noticeable since you use double crochet for the wrong side and a combination of single crochet and front post treble 2 together to create the diamond pattern, reaching down into the rows below.
Is it multiples of 4 + 3 or multiples of 4+3 for each multiple like is it 16+3 or is it like 16+6?
This is a multiple of 4 stitches plus 3, but you will need one for the turning chain so chain in multiples of 4.
Hey I have a question 100 chains it’s for the small one or the big blanket thanks ❤
This works for either. For the smaller size the 100 chains is the longer side, and for the larger size keep working until the 100 chains is the shorter side.
Thank you
Do you mind if I ask which colour of the Scarfy yarn that is? I am in love!!!
This is the Cream/Silver and it's amazing! It really looks even better in person.
I’m thinking it’s the cream and silver in lion brand Scarfie
This is the cream and silver. It comes and goes on the website - I guess they sell out of it a lot.
The initial Diamond row @ 5:05
Hi. I purchased your pattern but it didn’t down, oaf right could you resend.
Hi Jan! Where did you purchase the pattern at and I'll try to get the system to send another copy.
Is the multiple still 4+3 is I’m using chain-less foundation stitches?
No, the +3 is for the turning ch so you wouldn't need these. :)
I loved your Scarfie Dimond blanket. Can I ask what size hook you used with that yarn? Thank you for sharing.
This was made with a size L (8.00mm)

AT THE START OF ROW 2, WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE STITCH THAT YOU DID AS OPPOSED TO CHAINING 2,OR 3?
Hi! The method I always use in my videos for starting a row of double crochet is called the Chainless Double Crochet.
4:49
I just wanted to let you know I didn't dislike your video my fingers went oops I undid it it is and put alike sorry
Are you aware that the printed pattern says to chain 3 at the beginning of the double crochet row but the video says to chain 2?
Sorry about that. I always chain 3 for a double crochet, but I know some people use the chain 2.
sorry my mistake on that stitch i apologize
the very first founation row you say you are doing a single crochet when in fact you are doing a double crochet stitch
🤣🤣🤣💜👍👏👌
