I'm not ashamed to be a male who loves this song. I'm not ashamed to be a straight, middle-aged male who loves this song. I've been looking for a great cover from a male voice, but sadly many of them feel the need to swap out the gender pronouns. This is an amazing song which anyone can identify with on some level, and while I recognize that this song holds a particularly special meaning to women and young girls in society today, I also think that there is a beautiful statement of both vulnerability and power in a man being able to sing this song confidently... just as it was written.
I hear ya if we're straight and still sing the femal pronouns we're just comfortable with ourselves and not having to worry about overcompensating.
ok, I'll be frank with you, I'm a metalhead, sometimes I listen to Pop music, but I don't find many voices or tones to my liking in terms of male voices... but you, you have an excellent tone!! and believe me, I am very difficult to convince, so Keep doing it Bro!!
