@@BIGETV601 facts when it rains you mite only get one that day maybe two depending If that trac to bad or not it’s a different hustle but it is fun…. You will learn to drive that’s for sure
Lol yelp u will learn to drive, and I always try to get as many as I can bcuz one thing for certain that rain is coming one day or another I had weeks were I only gotten 2-3 loads for the week bcuz of bad trac and rain
Brother from my experience, I really wouldn’t suggest to somebody to get into hauling logs especially if they are used to making $800-1500 a week. That was how I was and now it feels like most weeks can’t compare to that whenever I pay myself unless I’m running and gunning all week with no problems. Now for someone that’s never had a job that pays that good, it may be better for them and they’ll look at it in a different light. Also, I know someone wanting to go from dry van otr owner op to log hauling with their truck. I feel like they will not like the transition because otr does make a lot better money unless they are mentally prepared to take a little cut for better home time. I have friends hauling just about every trailer you could think of so I get to see how different each thing is. Last thing, coming from making $800-1500 a week pulling not-as-risky loads and driving better roads, I feel like there ain’t no way in hell I could drive for someone else hauling logs down terrible curvy and steep roads to make less than I was making at one of my previous jobs. A lot of loggers in my area have some rough trucks and the logging operation puts a lot of strain on them and wears them out so you also have to deal with that. I guess it’s gotta be in your blood but it doesn’t look worth it to me. Loved your video by the way and it was very informational. Have a blessed day driver. Not a bah humbug guy, just wanted to leave my honest two cents
I own my truck & trailer & get paid a little over $200 per load, average 3 to 4 loads a day (sometimes less when I have to haul to mills far away). You do make more owning your own rig but are also solely responsible for your truck repairs/maintenance, just depends on the amount of risk you are willing to take.
Yeah I was making around $250 or little more depending on weight but I was only going 57 miles getting $9 a ton but I’m thinking about getting out of logging period I love it but not trying to be greedy but I do have a big family that I would like to give them a good a bigger home and finiancial stability
I’m makin like 5.88 per loaded mile, and with a $300 minimum anything under 40 miles. And $25 extra per load if I use my trailer. Jus got into this a few months ago
Hey there is 3 ways to get loads 1st is u haul for a logger that moves wood for ppl that selling there woods 2nd is u move wood from one mill to another mill meaning ur truck will never have to go in the woods 3rd is u can haul for a woodyard company that pays a private logger to cut the tract and they pay u to move the wood!!! U will never not have no work bcuz everyday someone is looking for a log truck to haul some wood
Sup bro I’m in Mississippi and nun over 100 miles radius but that was a year ago and now I’m all over Mississippi making some real good money hauling logs
@@BIGETV601 I’m from Mississippi too Hattiesburg to be exact I just got into trucking and I been hauling dry van but I wanna buy me a log trailer and transition over to that but I don’t have the first clue about it what would be some good beginner tips?
First thing I would do is get a couple quotes for insurance, then get a good running truck preferably cash money or if u can’t do that I would just get a brand new one financed thru ur bank so u could get better rates then I would drive it myself for about a year stack up much money as possible before u put a driver in it then I would repeat the process all over till u get how many ever u want
Hell he right I get paid 70 dollars a load average 4-5 loads a day bringing home about 1265 a week
Thanks for the confirmation buddy I try to tell the truth about everything I do on my channel. The good the bad and the ugly

1265 is not worth it tho bro. Unless you are home everyday
I am home everyday bro a lot time before 5 o clock
Much respect man! Thanks for the information on this. I'm wanting to start driving, but just trying to see what all my options would be eventually.
