@JAG3RB0MB here is a link to story about the speedway coming back for 2024 racing. www.wboy.com/news/ritchie/pennsboro-speedway-to-be-brought-back-to-life-in-2024/
I never thought about that before, but now I see it. I've run UMP modified's there in the early 90's, and how you got thru turns 3 & 4 would determine the entire lap.
In the fall I remember running Skyline Speedway on Friday night, driving to Pennsboro, sleeping in the truck, running the day race at Pennsboro, loading up and going to Interstate for Saturday night race, driving back to Pennsboro, sleeping in the truck and running the Sunday day race. What a weekend!!! Sure do miss it!!!
Discussed with a buddy that has extensive grading experience. Says leave it be and put a big tombstone at the entrance. Septic alone will be HUGE money. Basically all the green is new grass because last flood washed most of the infield away. The bridge i turn 1 & 2 got blocked with debris. When it floods, water might be 10 foot deep coming off the hills. If it flooded once it'll flood again. Really surprised to see that doublewide at end of hollow in turn 3/4. Leave it be folks. I'll be quite surprised if XR Series is still around come 2024 anyway.
This renovation is government funded. It is already paid for. It was buried in one of Joe Biden's Bills and is part of the "Build Back Better program. The monies were set aside for major renovation for recreational projects. Pennsboro's funding falls under the American Rescue Plan Act. $18 million went to North Wilkesboro, $9 million went to Rockingham, and $7 million was forwarded to Darlington for their renovation project. I do not have an amount for Pennsboro. Tentatively, the entire renovation plan is to be finished in 2024.
@@buckeyedrones damn. It definitely has character ill give it that. 3 bridges lol. And they raced umps here 20 years ago? Thats even more insane lol. Thats when i went to alot of dirt tracks in the chicago area. Shit was kinda wild back then lol
Keep after it! I wish you folks all the luck in the World to bring this track back!
Looks like it's going to be a challenging track for set ups and for the driver, Looks pretty awesome.
Agree but it will be wider than this
First race track I ever attended…was there as a kid / teenager and it was a blast! Late 60s early 70s!
My experience there was mid 80's thru early 90's, hope to go back some day.
Spent many many DTWC weekends there. Can't wait to see it back running
I hope the 2024 resurrection comes to pass. I would love to see this track in iRacing.
I hear that the XR TV bunch is going to invest into it.
Fix it up and bring back the world championship. I had a blast as a kid watching a couple races here.

DTWC will never happen there!!
Was the creek always going through the track
@@josephlownes5138 yes, total of 3 crossings.
DTWC will not be there. Cannot get enough people in there to pay the purse.
Widen all those bridges or whatever you want to call them by 20 yards to make the whole racing surface twice as wide from existing wall to the inside.
Return to racing in 2024 so excited
Yes! Looking forward to it!
Would love to see sprints I think the beginning of the end was when the bleachers burnt down
Is that a kart track in the infield?
Yes
Put the world championship back where it belongs. RTJ needs it
is it just me or is this track massive? maybe its just the footage...
It was advertised as 1/2 mile track.
Is this a little Pocono or what.

Looks like a very dangerous track
It was an old school track, I'm sure when it reopens, it will be up to current safety standards.
I have seen alot of end over end rolling there, cars completely destroyed
As dangerous as any old dirt track
The new owner should have used the original front stretch to make it a 3/8 th and then use the rest of property as pits

Agreed, XR stands seem to be usually empty and it seems like they pick where they're racing the day before they go.

Dirt darlington
Yes has the same egg shape.
@@buckeyedrones place looks mad how big is it distance wise? Like 5/8 mile?
@plisskenationbackfromthede3657 it was advertised as 1/2 mile around the inside of the track.

"Just dont hit it and youll be fine" lol
Waste of a good looking track
It's coming back in 2024
just going to be another WVMS lame racingbest thing they can do is race on the small track or shorten the track
Gotta be at least one killjoy in every bunch.
@@WilmaTell not a kill joy just the truth. Sorry it sounds so harsh
Same kind of stuff was said about north Wilskboro. Its sold out for the next 2 years
