It's a big part of our culture that you'd be surprised how much a Malaysian could talk about food all the time. In fact, we often greet others with "dah makan?" which means "have you eaten?" so don't weird out if a Malaysian suddenly asks you that, and freaks out when you say "not yet". No activity will be done until everyone has food. Also don't worry if a group of Malaysians suddenly start a 'fight' over where's the best place to eat something, because we do that a lot especially Malaysian men. Malaysian ladies just enjoy trying out new places so they don't care much about "the best place".

As someone who’s experienced both, the culture shock going from Msia to the States is more mind-blowing. Landing at LAX and the first month or so was like being on a different planet where all the humanoid beings were either incredibly intelligent or horrifically dumb, no middle ground
