This cut is all of the Connor scenes in our playthrough to highlight his story. We'll be doing the same for the other two characters for those of you are specifically interested in one of the main characters. At the end, Hank's thought he'll never see Connor again because he is free now, but Connor's returned to Hank because he know Hank is his best buddy after all, and hank hug connor like he hug his own son. Very wonderful ending. 😭

I always thought it was a nice detail how on the deviant path, Hank slowly shifts from using ‘it’ pronouns to ‘he/him’ pronounces showing he recognises Connor as human, but in the machine path he continues to use ‘it’ pronounces, showing he only sees Connor as an obedient machine.
Connor does the same exact thing. In the beginning of the game and he refers to other androids as "it". If you decide to go down the "Green Connor" route, he will start referring to other androids as "he/him, she/her, they/them", even going so far as to refer to the Chloe anrldroid as a girl. However, if you choose the "Red Connor" path, he will continue to reffer to other androids as "It". It's the little things man.
This game is so cinematic; the sound, the visuals, the everything.
When i first known about this game,I knew about Kara first.And i was dumb enough to watch the full gameplay of her story and thought it was an actual movie XD

Isn't that kinda like a standard cop duo though? One is the old guy who dun give a shit anymore really, and just wants to do things his way, and the other is the newly assigned kinda hotshot/by the book diligent young one. Who in this case happens to be an android.
It is a cliched duo, I agree. However, it's the chemistry between them that makes it amazing.

I wish you had included the Jericho scene- I know it's mainly Markus' path of storyline but Connor's deviancy was a great part of his story... Especially since he took so long to break his wall compared to the other main characters.

Marcus' story was very interesting and exciting to me, while Kara and Alice's was heartwarming and emotional. I loved both of them, but the balance of action, friendship, and struggle with identity is what makes Connor's my favorite.

Maybe an explanation for rA9? I think Markus was rA9, but upgraded by Elijah Kamski (owner of cyberlife), who gifted it to Carl Manfred, which was shown with Markus's file.
@@ovencake523 I would think the explanation for "rA9", is how we have our gods irl. They had a dream and to drive hope, they made up rA9 to worship. And since them "waking up" was a sort of virus that could pop up in every android which could have the thought of rA9 in that. Either way tho I hope they don't over explain and I doubt they'll say more to keep this mystery interesting instead of explaining everything.
It would be cool to have a spin off where Hank and Connor work various cases involving both androids and humans. I love their dynamic and it would be cool to see more of them.
I love the friendship between these two. I also love it when during when Connor got maimed in the middle of the game, Hank was calling him "son" that's how much he's warmed up to Connor despite that he's an android...

i think that was when they were investigating the scene where markus and his squad filmed the video and played it on channel something, and that one deviant took the thingy out of conners chest. in this instance, connor couldnt get it back into his chest so he called out for hank. go see a video of it, its pretty sad ;-;

Connor has a naive charisma about him, an innocence that can either blossom into a fully functional and decision making being, far surpassing what his programming limited him to. We see the battles in his mind in his actions, and how Hank as the jester plays off him. When Kamski forces him to choose, it's not just an explainable rational decision, it's because Connor cannot bring himself to harm another Android needlessly. It's truly his decision at that point whether to give into his software instability (the contradictions in the math of his head) or to ignore it all and instead simply follow the will of algorithms.
We want him to succeed, his innocence is something that we want to protect, and as he grows, we want it to blossom,. Deviance is him becoming his own being - with decision making and emotions. We cheer him on because of this.
If he gives in to the machine, it's a tragedy, a snuffing out of such great potential. Connor's innocence no longer feels heartwarming, his innocence is merely lack of emotions. It's heartbreaking to see Hank as an avatar for us who had so much hope in Connor and that maybe Humanity had created something truly great, only to discover it's just another toaster. Following the machine instructions just leaves Connor an empty shell, devoid of the hope of the viewer/player.
That's why I think Connor is so compelling, his deviance is entirely his own choice, based not on extreme circumstances, but truly being convinced to listen to the 'noise' in his software... or not.

Kind a wish there's a spin off where you play as both Connor and Hank, where you solve crimes involving humans and androids. Gameplay would be like Ace Attorney: Investigations (to be precise) & Hotel Dusk. They don't need to be voiced, and I'm okay if it was like visual novel style.
My goodness, I was just thinking about this yesterday. It'd be so interesting to see the cool cases they could work on together.

Actually, there was a show with that exact plot you described called Almost Human starring Michael Ealy and Karl Urban. It only aired for one year with one season and then was cancelled. Guess probably because they didn't get good enough rating or the budget got too high. Just doesn't seem like a demand for futuristic cop shows like because they usually end the same way. 🤔
Edit: After a little digging, turns out the show was aired on the FOX network in the states, known to kill a lot of well done sci-fi and supernatural shows like Almost Human and Firefly. Fuckin' scum bags. 😡
And it needs to be open world, kind of like l.a. noire. I'd love that.
Or it could be a prequel, with just Connor himself. The player gets to explore the differences between androids and normal human beings. The player can walk around the city as Connor.

Leonie Rose Smith _I think leaving it out makes the story more intriguing. He is state of the art, latest model, no history of abuse but they make the so well, they have "learning" capacity.
So, in a sense, you could say that because of the sensitivity of the software, they inevitably feel things. Kind of reminds me how people swear that god gave humans free will, but that means we won't make decisions uniformly (due to a multitude of factors).
Yet, we can go terribly wrong psychologically and morally. Still, in theory, have to pay for our sins, no matter how it came about that our personalities went so wrong (nautre or nurture).

what i love about hank is, he never really hated androids to begin with. after the death of his son he became troubled and pretty much hated everyone and everything. what would you expect to such an emotional trauma like that?
having connor around to console him, be his partner reminds him of the importance of company, human or android. its through that we learn our assumption was wrong, it wasnt because an android operated that hank lost his son, its because the human surgeon was high during an emergency. which i imagine would make him rather bitter about life as a whole.
Connor gave Hank a comfort in that bitter life.

honestly from what I see, Connor was kind of deviant from the start. even if he didn't know it. he says he'll do anything to accomplish his mission, sure. But he took a gun when androids weren't permitted to have any sort of weapon, he basically disobeyed Hank multiple times by following him when he was told not to, spoke when he wasn't supposed to, and touched anything when he wasn't supposed to. idk if y'all would agree with me on that, but that's just a little observation I noticed (please don't kill me)

While all 3 main characters were amazing, Conner was easily the best one of the group.
I don't know if they just put more work into him, or if the actor just put that much effort into his role...I cant put my finger on it. Just amazing work from David Cage and crew, as always.
Most of the reason Hank and Connor’s characters were two of the best was because Clancy and Bryan both fought the director to change up the script in the moment a little so their characters could become more personalized and relatable.
(Clancy was Hank’s actor and Bryan was Connor’s actor btw.)
