This forms the ridge which I plant my potatoes in. I think Rotary Hoes intended the potatoes would be planted in the furrow and then covered using the furrow covering attachment. The potatoes would need ridging as they grow though. Planting in the furrow would not need a return run but as the back ache is in 'ridging up' I form a ridge before planting.
In the above reply I answered 'Why'. In answer to 'Where' on the return run, the (left) wheel is positioned just off the ridge (to the right) formed from the first run . Hope this makes sense and helps.
