Well, with better qb play and productive receiving, return to some power running, and an improved front D-line, hopefully we can get back to 500 or 500 plus a game or two. Schedule is just as brutal as 2024 though.
Hockey (Mens and Womens) and Volleyball (Mens and Womens). Football they are toast for the better part of the next decade and Mens basketball they are just a guy
You could add that almost equally important to getting Edwards was also getting an experienced backup in case Edwards goes down. Really nice they were able to bring in the O'Neil dude.
Offense cant help but be better. Biggest question is the defense........i dont think Tressel is worth a darn. That will force the offense to play catch up in most games. Can they win the games they "should ", or use to win?? Then they could go 7-5...........if Not thanks to Fick hanging on to Tressel they could end up 4-8 or 5-7 and when Fick is fired he can take Tressel with him.
@davidwagner9644 Cephus, Danny Davis, Erickson, etc. We had good WR's when Fick got here. He told them to kick rocks for CJ, Green, QB5, WP, Trech, etc. How did that work out? Dike NFL borderline balled out at SEC FLA. Keontez balled out 1000yd sea on a crappy team, just signed with SEC OU. Bell same, was going to leave but UCON keeps upgrading & paid him to stay. The best guys on the team imo? Brooks & VA, both Chrysts guys. FICKS guys? QB5 never played. WP one good season, one bad season, trans out. Green Sucked CJ paid a bunch & he sucked. So how did it work out? Should have kept the guys we had, in fact all of the guys we had were better than what he's brought in. Mertz. Borto, Njongmeta, BA these guys almost ruined. Hope their player evals & development are finally good on their 3rd try or else this is going to be a long season...
6 - 8 wins is a reasonable/realistic expectation. New OC will play a better scheme and take advantage of a good O-Line. Still not sure of the defense… but can’t actually be worse.
I’m not on the fire fickell train, but I also don’t see the same optimism as you, at least with the same conviction. A lot of your optimism is coming from “it’s gonna get better because it has to” okay, well what if it doesn’t? Am I willing to give this coaching staff a chance? Absolutely, do I hope they succeed? Yes. Can they succeed? Yes. Am I going to give them the benefit of the doubt? No. Until they give me any on field results as reason for optimism or growth, why should I just assume that things will improve? I’m not saying it can’t happen, but to assume it has to happen because “things just can’t get worse” just sounds a little like blind optimism. I was someone who thought we’d win 11 games in year 1. I thought we’d win 9 games last year. Now I need to see actual improvement by the coaches and players before I trust that this team will/is getting any better
@@thyhooligan6859 As the roster stands now, I cannot in good faith say they can beat Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Washington, Indiana, Illinois and Minnesota. Especially with Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Indiana and Minnesota on the road. Are you confident this Badgers team can upset any of those programs right now? All those Blue blood, high rollers are getting another portal window before the season starts. WI perhaps can add but more than likely they will lose more in the spring making it even less likely in my opinion.
OL doesn't matter if we don't have WRs that can catch the ball. We also don't have guys who catch 50/50, back shoulder, etc. That's how BVE (My name for Edwards) got a lot of his yds last year.
I don't care about football right now. I like your plan for no Max, and agree he should sit out. I think Janicki might get more play, mainly because he's a good defender. McGee deserves the start, but I worry about foul trouble with him. He could be really aggressive playing lesser minutes...if he's too aggressive then he might just push himself back to his normal level of game time. And yeah...I'd be REALLY disappointed to lose this game.
@highlightcenter5651 Dude he came to us injured last year. He had two injuries during the season & two injuries the season before. That's an incredible statement to make. Nobody wanted VD last year. Ppl say he made $450k, I heard $300k. That's what you pay for a crappy backup not a P4 starter.
@ I mean we are current a 7-5 to 5-7 team and it is not okay. However we have to be realistic in that we are still rebuilding and if we get 7 wins that would be a miracle
Williams and Pauling left because we didnt get a better qb in the portal. The remaining receivers esp Vinny are fine. Ir all depends on the QB getting them the ball quickly. A QB that doesnt have tunnel vision and can see the field and respond quickly when someone has separation. We will have to wait and see if we have that.
@ Edward’s isn’t better than Locke? If they use koziol that helps everybody. I imagine the time of possession was horrible for wi. Which never helped the defense out. Bowl eligible next year is a good season. Any upsets is cherry on top
6-6 means winning 3 outta these 5 games....Minnesota, Indiana, Iowa, Washington, Illinois. 7 wins means UW wins 4 of those 5. Its a brand new team ... but Fickell has proven nothing. I hope i am wrong and we can upset a big dog.
@LockedOnBadgers Doesn't matter if he has 3 seconds or 6 seconds, if his WR's can't catch the passes he likes to throw, wrs drop passes, etc. that's a non-starter.
@@JMFBizzle he’s got some weapons though, VA is a good WR. Was a portal target this year for other teams. Koziol a big time TE threat. The cupboard isn’t filled to the brim. But it’s not empty here
@LockedOnBadgers Who is the back shoulder, fade to the corner, 50/50 wr on the team? He had two at MARY. Brooks they won't let run routes, who else is there? And it's not a TE unless you're saying he's Brock Bowers, Which I'm assuming you're not. Who is that guy?
Well, with better qb play and productive receiving, return to some power running, and an improved front D-line, hopefully we can get back to 500 or 500 plus a game or two. Schedule is just as brutal as 2024 though.
Is UW basketball now officially better than football? Are we a basketball school now?
Nope. It’s a hockey and volleyball school

Badgers played 10 on 11 while on offense. A miracle they won 5
Yep, the best WRs we've had on the team the past 3 years were Chrysts who could actually eval & develop guys. Dike, Keontez, Bell, Vinny, Brooks, etc.
And to think at one time we had wr like Chris Chambers. TD Tony Simmons. Lee Evans. Lee DeRamus.
Haven't really brought in a lot of guys in actual recruiting. KBJ and Hilton Jr. is really all this staff has brought in.
they gotta bring in more for sure. I thought this should have been a two WR year at least

QB5, WP, GREEN, CJ were all their guys, most of them FR. Recruiting is recruiting.
Where did the video abt Hallman coming back go?
Depending on how you are looking you might need to just check the live section of the channel.
Nope I agree it's gone.
6 - 8 wins is a reasonable/realistic expectation. New OC will play a better scheme and take advantage of a good O-Line. Still not sure of the defense… but can’t actually be worse.
Pass it to the left
6-8 wins?! did you look at the schedule?
When expectations are high, they disappoint. When they are picked low, they typically over achieve. We'll see!

3 win football team in 2025 as it stands. Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee, and Maryland. Maybe Iowa in Madison.
dont put $$ on that take... lol

5-7, Ryan no matter your hype.
Surprising to see a fellow red pill fan here. Last of a dying breed.
Heiberger is my dude. Need an outside tall fast CB.
I like Tommy Turbo
@LockedOnBadgers Tommy Mcintosh? Him & his 4.5 40, 6'5" frame are gone. Did he come back?
Yeah, VD was such a huge loss that he's the #45 portal QB & signed on to be a backup at SMU. LOL
Well yeah there’s a big difference for a guy who had to sit out a year and is coming off an ACL tear. Pre-injury he was a big upgrade over Locke

He's not a competent QB without 2 6'3" fast NFL WR's like he had at Maryland.
