The Len Thompson 5D is probably the most universally consistant lure I've ever found, I tend to have a bit better luck on the original collors over the flourescent ones. Also, is that a Tsunami telescopic rod? I have one and really like it, I've been running a 6500 Ambassadeur on mine (short guides, so it works for casting too), an excelent pike setup. I've caught everything from walleye to small tuna on that rod.
Thanks for your comment. The 5of D is one of my favourites too. The fluorescent colour is my go to on dull, cloudy days. And yes it is a telescopic rod though I don’t know the name. It’s aluminum and handled that big catfish quite well. Gotta love Len Thompson lures!
Thanks Alan. Glad you think so. I try and add something new each time I post. Still learning. That fish might have been the heaviest though the pike was probably the longest.
Pike fishing ultralight! Nice dramatic music.
Thank you. Multi species fishing I own mostly spinning rods. It does make for more fun and challenging landing the bigger ones.
Hard to beat a Len Thompson, I caught my largest pike and largest lake trout on the same spoon. The biggest silver one they made at the time.
It is hard to beat! No tackle box should be without one!
Wow!! That was cool!!
Thanks! Trying to improve a little every time I post.
Pike are impressive slayers! Those moderate eaters are putting the whammy on that 3,000 spinning reel!!!!
Ideally I should be using a bait caster but didn’t own one at the time.
You know what else helps catch tons of fish? A boat! No one ever talks about needing a boat to do any of this.
A boat helps but shore fishing can be great too.
Pike will, quite literally, hit anything. I figured the "huge" fish was a catfish by the way it stayed down.
You a right on both counts. Lake trout will stay down too and grow very large.

Wow the production value of your videos continue to grow at such a rapid pace!
Is the catfish the largest catch you've had?
