You also have to evaluate the time that you go. Later in the day, there's not going to be as many as early in the morning when they do their markdowns
For real! I even work at a grocery store and could never find the kind of deals she gets.
Yes I'm in the Houston area and our krogers are nothing like that, only the deli section has woohoos. But, here is what I might try. I may go as soon as the store opens because I have a feeling people are coming in early to get the deals.
Or the stores are throwing it all in the trash. 🤷🏻♀️

Denmark here. I always pick up reduced price peppers, chop /slice them up, freeze on a tray for an hour,(no need to blanch) , then transfer to ziplock bag. Then you have ready peppers for soups /stews etc. Love your channel.

The wanton wrappers are good in muffin cups filled with BBQ chicken mixed with ranch dressing and cream cheese or Buffalo chicken mixed with blue cheese and cream cheese. Very yummy and I sprinkle cheese and breadcrumbs on top to make them crunchy.
I will not reject pizza in any form, but given a choice...pizza rolls over bagel bites all the way!

Amazing. I cycle between four Kroger’s in a 40 minute radius I hit all of them at least once or more a month and I’ve never seen so many deals like this. Very cool. Also, your pronunciation of cauliflower is adorable!

I love clearance shopping and do a quick tour through all the local stores about once a week. It's also alot less expensive and much quicker when I can do it without my kids and/or husband.

I miss the bulk bins. They closed them at beginning of pandemic and never open them back up in my county. it really sucks when I just need like a half a cup of something but I have to buy 2 lb.
These prices make me so happy especially as food prices are rising here in TX!

regular ores over reverse or double stuff or any other variety. pizza bagels over rolls or hot pockets or any other variety. pumpkin spice anything over peanut butter anything.
In my country most stores mark the reduced items starting with about 15% reduction, then after 6 PM the reduction goes down to 30% and at 9 PM, to 60% on all reduced items. This has lowered the food waste almost to zero.

I moved in with my boyfriend last year. He encourages all of my clearance shopping now and goes straight for the bread rack if he comes with me. It's amazing!!
Mine likes the savings but thinks I'm a food hoarder. lol
Turn it into a savings challenge for the two of you. He will probably enjoy it more especially if you include the envelope system for budgeting the groceries. Example you each get twenty dollars, can only buy fresh meat that will feed every one in the house for three or four weeks.

Our Kroger just has one little shelf area that they put clearance items. And let's say it's there for a reason. It used to have decent meat sales. Since Covid, there hasn't been any sales, coupons or clearance :(

Because it is black popcorn NOT from yellow corn. The white and red popcorn are also great! The kernels also pop up smaller.

Love chocolate covered donuts, then I put them in the freezer just for about 5 min or so to get the chocolate crust crunchy......Ooh so good!

Love shopping grocery clearance. Some people think it’s just cause the food is about to expire. But if it’s more 50% off and you can eat before the expiration date. I say stock up. A lot of the time the store is getting rid of older inventory that’s still good for months or the branding has changed.
I live just outside of metro Detroit. Food is so expensive in my area. Our grocery stores have such high volume very little food is left over to even go on clearance. I have to go shopping in the early morning or a lot of items I need will be sold out.
I’m in the area too. I agree about the early- but today the opposite was true. They had more put out, 1 hour later. So much so that it was worth checking a few areas/isles again.

My husband loves when i come home with clearance items. :) especially in the deli section when they have sandwich wraps on clearance.
I'm the gal that would dumpster dive, if they weren't locked. So I love clearance shopping. Help keep food from going to the dumpsters. Best of all saving $$$.

Found a bouquet of 11 roses, they threw it away bc it wasn’t a dozen. Vegetables that are too small, pretzels that got too crushed
Oooo! Try cool whip mixed with strawberry yogurt to dip the strawberries in! It’s out go to fruit dip! Delicious!
It's hard to find clearance items around, probably because I live in NYC, but when I do I stock up. Since I switched the Christine's way of shopping we are saving so much money. I do always scan the sales flyers and coupons though. My hubby doesn't is slow to change it but he's finally understanding that he should ask me if we have something in stock before running to the store and paying full price.

I like the yellow ( vanilla) Oreos best- just my opinion. Bagel bites, choc iced with sprinkle doughnuts. Wow there were tons of markdowns and clearance items!!
I love dark, but hubby is white and refuse to eat bones! So we do chicken leg quarters and shred for casseroles, enchiladas, ect (hd doesn't notice then. Also I save the leg part to grill with burgers, he eat burger while I eat the chicken legs!🤣
The tomato low carb tortilla is great! I love that and the spinach ones
I use Psyllium husk in my smoothies. I would highly recommend that because not only do you get fibre but so many other nutrients and its all natural.
I can't say enough good about fetch Rewards. If you have a few friends that buy beer. And they let you scan the receipts. You are halfway to a gas card at Walmart.
Scored coppertone large lotion in the clearance isle for $2.69. Also our store has two entrances and in one side they have the sale items in the bins

I knew as soon as you opened that ICECREAM it was all over! I yelled “don’t do it - you’ll want the whole thing”!🤣. Those low carb wraps are awesome! We stopped buying any other brand. Our KROGER has the “ugly” produce racks and older pkgs of peppers, oranges, etc. I always buy them then “process” them within a day or so. Chopping peppers, juice fruit and saving zest and freeze 🥶 it all. I can quickly grab all my pre-prepped food and throw meals together in minutes - almost like those meals kits. Enjoy that ICECREAM 🍦!

Regular Oreos and pizza bagels. And as far as chocolate and coconut being your weakness...ME TOO. They had these coconut peeps dipped in chocolate so I HAD to try it and they were so good!
Do your family really eat clearance food. Most of the time it's like a experiment to see if they like what you cooked or do you make 2 meals.

I love the golden oreos! In Canada they are the original Girl Guide cookie from the 1980’s when Christie made the Girl Guide cookies we sold door to door. Fudgeo are the chocolate ones. I also love buying meat on clearance and freezing it. Meat is so so expensive in Canada, if I can pay a fraction of the retail price it’s great!
Ah, I miss Kroger so much. They pulled out of my area, leaving behind only their Harris Teeter stores which tend to run pretty expensive and don't have nearly as good or as frequent markdowns. I used to be able to get entire veggie trays for $1, Greek yogurts for a quarter each, buns for a quarter, ground turkey for $1 a pound. I had to *majorly* adjust my shopping strategy when they left.

Here at our discount grocery store the regular size golden oreos are sold 3 pkgs for $5. Tastes just vanilla but cheaper than me making cookies. 3 cookie serving tho!
I would have to develop a taste for the regular oreo so that might explain things

I might be crazy but that Southwest Lite ranch is one of my favorites! It is still high in sugar and other nonhealthy stuff but to get 2 for .74 cents would be worth it for those who enjoy it and aren't worrying about any health stuff!
Scored at the dry good clearance today.. BBQ popchips for $1.49, minions cereal for .99, some planters snack mix apparently inspired by breakfast baked goods, 1.99 for 5oz., i only took the blue berry muffin ones because it had dried blueberries and almonds.

I am super entertained at the same time super jealous with how your supermarket does clearance sales! I live in Asia where supermarkets only put stuff on clearance when they’re obviously rotten (crazy i know).
