Don't spend a dime on upgrades on a 400ex, it's a trail bike and it's a very dependable quad, it has pleanty of power stock right of the show room floor. I'v had mine a 2005 and I still have a great time riding to this day, thank you honda !
I have questions about the Hinson clutch cover I have one does the case come with the cover or do you have cut the original Honda one to make fit the cover so it will bolt on mine didn’t come with can you please respond I don’t no a a lot about the clutch covers
Oh you already pulled it off ? That's awesome good for you yep you did make out like a bandit you definitely make more money that way but what happens most of the time you end up selling a couple of parts and the rest of it you get stuck with and you can't sell because the thing is missing parts Hondas are great machines that helps as well !
Cool bike but I'm a YFZ450R guy. Hope you got what you wanted out of it. 400EX are fun play bikes they need lots mods like yours to sustain MX race pace. Keep em stock I say. Get a TRX450R or YFZ450R for racing 🏁.
I think you're going to take a really big loss on that bike not too many people racing 400 anymore or riding them for that matter. But it is done right did you try and sell it in one piece you'll be surprise what can happen I had an 07 TRX 450 R pretty much in the same situation as you are in it was done to the hills and I was thinking I would never get my money back and less I parted out but I posted it and somebody came with the money I wanted to at least give it a shot! Because like I said it is a gem!
+Gav3n0023 hey buddy, I purchased that clutch cover about 15 years ago when they were available through Hinson, I haven't seen another one in this condition for sale lately, they hardly come up for sale. I sold this one for $575 through my EBay store lrc_powersports.
+Gav3n0023 everything has been sold, the guy I sold the roll design A-Arms has decided to resell them. I always have parts for sale on my EBay store lrc_powersports
may be true but when it was introduced in 1999 it was almost immediately put into the MX and XC circuit, and it is capable of winning championships as Doug Eichner did in 2003 using the Duncan racing 400ex to win the Four-Stroke National championship title.
@@louiscave5732 If I recall, Doug gust won the Montreal supercross with a pretty stock EX back in 98 or 99 when they were just released. Also Wes Miller won the Baja 500 atv category on also a pretty close to stock unit. Not made to race, but still quite capable. Awesome quad, I had a pretty built 05 I that I bought new and raced it successfully for a few yrs 👍
thanks for all your support, almost everything has been sold

Erik Rivera the tires are either ambushes or hole shots but the “rims” are called wheels an I know there bead locks
Erik, the tires are Maxxis razr MX wheels are Hiper CF1 carbor fiber.
Love my 03 400ex.
Powerslayer I have an 03 400ex too
What is done to yours
I have a 04 400ex
Well the 400ex price has skyrocketed so if you wouldve held onto it youd be good
Today that would be worth at least 7k in Kentucky.

i dont have the one from this bike but i do have an fcr39 for sale in my ebay store lrc_powersports
Louis Cave do you have any parts left from it
Louis Cave do you have the air box

A 400ex is not a race bike and was never suppose to be.
may be true but when it was introduced in 1999 it was almost immediately put into the MX and XC circuit, and it is capable of winning championships as Doug Eichner did in 2003 using the Duncan racing 400ex to win the Four-Stroke National championship title.
Louis Cave oh yeah no doubt they are used to race just Honda didn't produce it for racing.
Holy they produce it however it's not their pick it's the owner/riders pick
