Andy I love it when you try to use chef terms, it's actually par boil but your right it dose mean to partially boil something, don't ever change Andy your unique and I'm going to start saying part boil
Stunning Pie Andy! If only people would start learning to home cook, instead of using Deliveroo and such to bring them fast food, they could save money and be better fed/ Nourished. I might even look at making this after Christmas even as a chicken pie.
Lovely idea and it looks great! That gravy is excellent, still got some from last year! I've been asked to do a steak and kidney pudding for our Christmas and I'm not complaining, nice and easy! 👍🏻
Wow, that's remarkable. I've never seen a pie like that. Scrumptious, and everything else on the plate had me licking my lips too. The roasties looked spot on, you certainly know how to cook those babies. Is there a spare place at your table for Xmas? I can book a flight and be there in 24 hours lol. Just kidding, I've had too many scary flights to ever set foot on a plane again. Actually, I might give this pie lark a go, though I'm not much of a cook. My dear wife passed away four years ago and she did great Xmas dinners. I'd barely cooked at all before then. I was supposed to go to the family Xmas gathering this year (seven kids) but the Auckland-Tauranga return road trip is six hours so I flagged it. Thus, one of these pies could be just the ticket. Keep the vids coming, Andy, I love your channel. Cheers.
It was good, yeah try it sometime, lost my mum about 4 years ago she was a cook, think that it was where I learnt to cook, have a great Christmas mate 👍🏻
Instead of using paxo, id have made a sage and onion gravy. Id get a can a baxters french onion soup, add sage, then thicken it with the turkey granules. That way there would be the taste but not the soggy stuffing. Another idea would be to make a stuffing from minced pork, and add sage and onion to that, and precook into balls. Id eat yours though as it did look tasty btw.
A unique and very English take on a Christmas dinner, my main complaint with turkey is always that it can be quite dry. This way of using it fixes that and looks hearty and moist. I am tempted to try and re create this in my kitchen! Putting the spuds in there would definitely ruin that nice crispy edge on a roast potato, keeping them out was the move for sure.
Yeah I thought at first putting the roast potatoes in the pie, then I had that same thought about going mushy, they were better separate, the turkey me was diced thigh so it didn’t go as dry as breast sometimes go, but all in all it was lovely 👍🏻
Normally have a small single very special whiskey, which was a Christmas present a few years ago from my daughter and wife, if you go into my playlist, it should be under alcoholic drinks did a shot last Christmas Day 👍🏻
I can't wait to try this looks pietastic 😂😂 really looks delicious keep up the great content Andy and I will always support you with your content ❤ where can I buy the pigs in blanket gravy from I'm Pembrokeshire so tesco b&m etc?
Dammit all, Andrew! I made your beef and suet pie, decided Chrimbo Dinner's boxed off, then you come out with this🤷♂️.That, me old mucker, is a triumph🏆. Had me at turkey thigh meat and sprouts, mate👍 Fine, so I'm gonna try this one at the weekend, and likely make both on the big day. Tell ya what, you're proper getting the hang of this review and cooking channel malarkey..even got the missus dishing up👏! Nice work, fella👍.
@@fatandy I bet they did, Andy. Like I said, it was the thigh meat that had me hooked. Same goes for chicken, duck and goose etc. Defo the best bit. Not keen on sage and onion, so I think I'll make some spicy sausage meat balls to go in. Not too hot, just a bit of warmth, and maybe some thyme or rosemary in 'em🤔.
never seen a more beautifuly constructed pie wow
Thanks
