IM ANGRY!!!! IM SO ANGRY!! Today I rant on something that I wish Roblox would fix as it's trying to be the big ol metaverse or whatever why cant they just add search specifications PLZZZZ IM LITERALLY BEGGING YOU
My biggest annoyance is when they decided to remove game filters. Remember when we could sort games by "rpg, town and city, obby, adventure, action, etc"?
Good old times, I also miss the forum page.
Literally ruined the website for me. It's why I only play the same 3 games anymore... It's hard to find anything actually worth playing anymore, especially with the current categories. It's either garbage simulators, roblox remakes of those shitty appstore games, or games based around whatever's trending among children at the moment.
Of course, I'm not gonna pretend like those kind of garbage games weren't still a thing back then. I mean, I used to BE a dumb child who would play such games. (had thousands of hours in feed the giant noob or w/e the fuck it was called lmfao) It was just way easier to sift through them since most of the garbage was usually in the obby category. Now, it's in EVERY category, the same exact games too.
What would be even better is if every game recommendation list I find wasn't filled with shooters or other similar games... I do not want to be called slurs I wanna play minigames with my siblings 😭 (still a 50% chance of happening... epic minigames beef gets serious)

its honestly an annoying system, leaving developers to need assistance from content creators instead of roblox themselves. jon's computer is a really good example of this, amazing game, but needed content creators to really take off

I expected this to be something controversial, but this is actually just something that we need, it’s good that he’s standing up after being one of the most popular Roblox ytbers
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m pretty sure this is because people put tags in their game description, meaning they put loads of random words in their description. This means that if you search one of the words in their description, like flamingo, people might see their game.
Just like the classic clothing too. They put the most random words on a shirt like “ok kawaii grunge emo lol no yes poop.” that’s probably an actual description on one of them if i think about it. 😭

I agree! There’s many really good obscure games that get hidden away by the copy and paste trash simulator or story game. I have to rely on TH-camrs or random Reddit or tumblr posts to find good games anymore. Or sometimes I get lucky and find one on my own
And the sad thing is that the hot garbage isn't even hot, its cold, dry, and boring.

Why this happens: Games (usually the bad ones) will have a ton of trendy words at the bottom of the description, which are referred to as "tags". These tags act as keywords so that when you search those keywords up, you see that game, even if it has nothing to do with your search.
I bet they put the entire 2023 dictionary in those tags

The reason the search engine is so messed up is because of the tag system in the description. If you ever wonder why games spam random words in the bottom of their page, that's why.

I very specifically remember the search working much better on older roblox, in fact I remember it changing. They had to have changed the way their search functions semi site wide because even searching the toolbox seemed to have changed and functions much less specifically than they used to

As a tiny Roblox dev myself. This is really triggering. Every time I search the games I made, they never come up. This is unfair to anyone new to the dev community or young game developers under the age of 13.

Finally someone speaks up about this issue! I think it's partially keyword stuffing that messes searching up, because some people will think of as much as they can and put it in the description to boost their game up the search results no matter what you type into the search bar. Very unfortunate that we figured that out

A recommendation, if games have had almost no activity for 2-3 months it will almost completely stop popping up unless the dev presses a button too "reboot" it. Making it so old accounts with hundreds of abandoned games dont get annoying

to be honest, it's not just the search system that needs an overhaul.
You used to be able to scroll for atleast a bit when you click on one of the options on teh main page (like whats popular, ect) but now you rlly cant.
And the Home page is so so cluttered with catergories, even sponsered games that it's hard to find 'my favourites' on there.
It all leaves devs out of getting players, and jsut makes players not be bale to play much games.

There used to be a genre drop down button, I have no idea why it got removed because I used it a ton to find new games for certain categories. Truly a roblox moment.
For the "chat" at 4:17, it's because in french we say chat for cat.
I think certain things that you search get confused with the language difference. For example in English, you say “chat” for the chat, but in french “chat” means “cat”. It’s clearly a problem they could easily fix

Tags are very annoying as they can make your game show up on very random searches filters could make this a lot more easy there is also the fact it shows the game up even if its only a little bit close to your search similar things happen in youtube
Now the funny thing is, they have Genres to list games in, but you can't even do that much of sorting by a certain genre. The search is horrible for finding new games you'll like, but at least if you know what you're searching for, you'll find it. But that's kind of the bare minimum, why call it "Discover" if you can't find something new?
I remember being able to scroll forever and find tons of games related to exactly what I searched. Now, it just shows a few hundred results of completely unrelated stuff

the reason the search system will show unrelated games is because the word you searched appeared in their description. small, annoying, fake obby and minecraft games will often fill their description with "tags" that are commonly searched things, and popular people/games. roblox filters through the game's title and description, and if they find the word you're searching for, they give you that game. its also why its VERY hard to find specific styles of clothes, because if you search up "gyaru" 9 times out of 10 you will find 2 gyaru items amongst a sea of non-gyaru clothing.
it's also common for games to put "PLAYED BY FLAMINGO" in their title or description because they know you're a popular youtuber and that people will play anything that you play.

When playing roblox ever since you were a baby, just as you and I have, although I have quit previously because of the chaos and disasters that took place, I too can see how horrid the game is now, and I notice that many things took place which were apart of the cause of the countless disasters and the state of the game its self in present. Roblox was a wholesome innocent game in the beginning, and has it continued it excitement poured in, such as events, new games, and level things. However these turned to horrid things, insane maniacal players thrashing horrible sentences, and odd and innappropriate behaviour. Of course these things may have always appeared once in a while in the beginning of Roblox, too, however now it is all that is visible. The website its self has completely altered, the vibe altogether, is a wrecked feat. I, personally, have known of this game for the past 10 years, and across those years it has been a roller coaster, some times it may be enjoyable, others it may be deplorable. I have now stopped playing, but I keep the kind memories that I once managed. However you of all people, Galbert, shouldn't put a stop to the treading that you began on Roblox. You, the most original of all the people that have played this game, should continue playing Roblox, and as you do, you can venture in other valleys. I have watched your previous channel embellished with a frinchet vast that opened the truth that Roblox is to be trotted along, and your channel you keep now, revealed the intricate idea you carved, a rat, a flamingo, they intertwine and beneath is the initials. These to me are the most accurate ways to word the unique and unparalleled videos you make, and I do hope you continue to be yourself, because that is which is most important as an individual.

I know this video is 9 months old but, one of the reasons those random more than likely bot generated games pop up when you type in “albert” or “flamingo” is because people put tags in the description of the game. Like for example, a game could be titled “EPIC MINECRAFT OBBY” and it will have in the description a bunch of buzz words or popular search terms like flamingo. I hope this made sense.
YES THANK YOU ALBERT. Game discovery is at an all-time low in roblox which is detrimental for developers who develop games as passion projects (usually the most fun games)

Finally, somebody who can rant about the search engine. It's really annoying for new players when they want to find games, they want to play by using the search engine, but then 98% of games that popup here are completely random games, I find this absurd how a billionaire company hasn't even fixed their search engine or at least put in a filter, possibly the worst search engine I've ever laid my eyes upon.
