What seriously annoyed me when still in student halls was people freezing their bread. Like 6 people shared a single fridge/freezer unit and half of the poor freezer was filled with fucking bread. Not just any bread, but the 30p, cheapest, yet bulkiest bread you could buy at Tesco.
I had to set up a whole bread rota for my housemates just so our freezer wasn't filled with bread 😂 Basically, instead of freezing bread they just shared one loaf instead so it was consumed before it went bad Completely mad that people needed that kind of help

I live in Canada and everything comes in bulk here, my bread usually comes in a pack with 3 loafs or 2 if it's a wide loaf. I freeze most of it and leave one loaf out for eating.

Lewis seems to be under the delusion that we store active bread loaves in the freezer, what with his comments about "putting the bread back in the freezer." No, we do not do that. We buy several loaves, cause we know we go through bread like absolute monsters, put one in the bread box, and the others in the freezer. When one loaf is done, we pull a frozen loaf out. Sometimes, this is in the morning, where we're too hungry to wait for it to thaw, so we fiddle with the settings on the toaster to make the bread toast properly. You don't put an active loaf in the freezer, that's sacrilege.

These days people buy store bought preservative filled corn syrup bread in many developed countries now because it keeps very well and even in a hot, humid climate like Florida that I live in, it keeps for a few weeks easily even without air conditioning. It's actually crazy how preserved modern store bought factorized bread is

I buy bread close to the last sell by date, because it's way cheaper and I'm poor. I then freeze most of the bread, but keep enough for a couple of days in the fridge. It goes moldy otherwise. (oh and I don't have a toaster)
Nah microwave it for like 2/3 of the time it takes to unfreeze it, and then leave it for an hour to defrost itself. If you leave it in the microwave long enough for the entire thing to defrost, then the parts that unfreeze the fastest will start losing moisture.

Bread is such a good food to freeze, it's makes pretty much no difference to the texture. A freshly baked loaf is a nice treat, but my family has bought bread in bulk for decades and we thaw it as we need to. I'm getting Sips-microwave vibes from Lewis here ;D

My family has to put our bread in the fridge cause if left out our cats will eat the bread. Have had it happen in the past when we left hamburger buns on top of the fridge. Came home to find the package ripped open in the dining room and a trail of bread to the stairs. It had twelve buns in it and all of them were ripped apart. Don’t trust my cats at all. My mother even witnessed our calico cat running with a blueberry muffin in her mouth that was sealed in a ziplock bag. With our male tabby cat following behind her. It was in the pantry out of sight and she still got ahold of it.

I don't think people eat frozen bread. You put it in the freezer just to preserve it. We live 20 miles from the nearest town. So we have to buy a couple loaves and freeze a few.
Then when we need it we take out and let it thaw. We're not all rich you know, it's a hold over from a harder time. We're gonna need to do it again soon.
