I'm so looking forward to seeing that first morning when you get up (hopefully to a brilliant sunrise) and pull your anchor up after your first night at sea. It's getting closer guys. Take care and happy travels.
Now you are in my backyard, Palm Beach County, been to the boat show many, many times. Nice place to work & raise my family. We did the opposite, retired, left Florida and moved north. Some of the kids and grandkids even followed us up north. We were raised in snow country but not them. Having to shovel snow to get to work is a real eye opener for them!
You guys are doing this the RIGHT way! Bummer you didn't find any cats to look at. At least you have 2 back at the RV. HA! Thanks for the tour!! Love that floating ipad/iphone thing. Great idea with having your own way to fill the air tanks for scuba!
I remember going to the Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD. Probably not as big as the one in Miami, but it was awesome. Good Luck finding your floating home!
I had to comment on Sea Bags - I was just at the Surf Expo last month as a future exhibitor (I sell Turkish towels) and came across their booth, which was BEAUTIFUL. As a new business, it was great to see their setup here, 5 years ago in comparison to where they are now. It's difficult to start a business and struggle while seeing successful ones all around you - this was a good gut check for me. And yeah, I've reached the end of your videos so I'm starting from your boat shopping days because I truly enjoy following along your adventures.
We leave in 3 days to go pick up our sailboat in Maine. We are sailing her down the east coast, offshore. You may have to broaden your search and start looking north if you don't find any acceptable boats. Good luck.
You should start buying the toys now, and use them in the RV, ;like those nesting pots and pans, and then you can easily transfer them to your boat when you findit !
Eventually we sailors may see you in the sailing community asking the right questions about what you really need. Until then, it is enjoyable to watch you looking for your next adventure.
I was curious about that 110' luxury yacht TRISTAN, so I looked it up. First, incredibly, Tristan was built in 1993! Not bad for a nearly quarter century old boat! Secondly Tristan is a bargain at only 1.95 million! Tristan was also built to accommodate up to 8 guests and 6 crew in six cabins, and she has a 12 knot top speed and can cruise 10 knots comfortably on her engine.
I just got a WiFiRanger for my RV. Just started testing it out a few days ago. Works pretty well. They have a boat version too. Is that what you are looking for, wifi extenders made for boats? If so, take a look at it, seems pretty good to me.
Alot to learn alot to absorb so how big is ur list?? Mine would be pretty long😂😂 new adventures can and are expensive but the knowledge u learn and teach all of us land lovers we greatly appreciate. 🤓🤓 thk u for taking us along 🐻
I started watching the sailboat channel called Sailing La Vagabonde and wow just anchoring the boat can be tricky. Amazing how they spear their fish dinners. I'm addicted to that channel. They are sailing around the world. You should see the size of the lobsters! Lol
The 57' motor yacht VENDETTA is for sale too! Her stunning design is the result of a Billy Joel stylistic concept and could be yours for the low low price of $1,195,000 (plus whatever it would cost to add a mast, sails and keel) XD
When I was sailing, I spent more time (and money) maintaining & repairing the watermaker than it would have taken to even carry bottled water (when necessary) to fill the tanks. You can carry extra water for longer passages in jugs if you need it. The watermaker was one of the worst investments I made. Even with a watermaker on board, I still ended up carrying jugs of fresh water when the cranky thing wasn't in the mood to cooperate. This was despite the fact that I understood the mechanics and knew how to maintain & repair it. Unless you really enjoy troubleshooting and tinkering with mechanical systems and don't care about how much labor it will require to keep it running, I wouldn't recommend watermaker. (Unless you are planning on getting a boat over 50 tons and expect to need over 100 gallons a day, forget about watermakers)
I have not read all of the comments, so please forgive me if I am repeating info: Check out Active Captain for Internet solutions. I've seen numerous articles on that site on this subject.
Polarized glasses are great, they got laser eye surgery to correct vision. Wonder if they could polarize your eyes so you dnot need those silly sun glasses
"It's like tent camping on the water when you really didn't want to"; 😃 Although the real thing is deadly serious taken in context your comment made me burst out laughing Nikki. Not sure what the point of square architecture was. Maybe so the canopy would act like a staysail in concert with a sea anchor while at the same time keeping the entrance leeward to wind and wave? Nikki darling Polarizing sunglasses are very useful for fishing and similar stuff like dolphin watching.
For internet options you might want to check out Peplink. I'm most familiar with the MAX HD2, but they have less expensive models as well. www.peplink.com/products/max-cellular-router/multi-cellular/#hd2
Its probably been said already but I didn't see it but maybe a long range trawler might be worthy of consideration, Kady Krogan or Nordhavn etc and I know cats are spacious ( I have one) but if nothing suitable is showing there really are some fantastic mono's out there which might be adapted more cost efficiently than less than ideal cats.
Did you guys ever figure out an internet solution? I've used the WeBoost LTE boosters and used my phone as a hotspot (for camping/overlanding), but I've not looked into the WiFi options.
We have a saying in not so sunny England, that goes like this. "You can't teach your granny to suck eggs", just saying because you've probably heard people tell you this a trillion times before. However, when the trolls/losers/small minded people start, remember guys just ignore em, the rest of us love your videos!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼⛵️🍾
enjoy them while you can , the last video will be the day they set sail, never to be heard from again. when your land yacht has trouble, its a walk to the next town, when your sea yacht has trouble, its, how long can you tread water. the people WHO have sea experience and have watched these videos KNOW its not going to end well, trolls their not.
Aaa yes, And a sad SHORT life it will probably be, Its one thing to be negative, Yet another to use common sense and due diligence. Nether these folks have, When you read the other comments, You can tell the one's that truly understand the unforgiving nature of life at sea and the ones who have neary a clue. Seamanship, Good seamanship takes many many years to master, a skill set that is a matter of life and death. Retired i now pilot a sweet little class C motorhome, Before that thirty years as a Master for a large oil tanker company. i have watched all their videos, And i believe i am a fair judge of people and their ability to learn. they are YEARS away from taking on such a responsibility. Talk to any Coast Guardman who has spent anytime at sea, they know the type. these poor souls are way in over their heads.
+we tolow Dude, give it a rest. Enjoy the videos for what they are. These people are not stupid, and you aren't born into having 30 yrs experience. Enjoy the journey.
First off, I am NOT your DUDE. "Born into having 30 years experience "? No, I worked my ASS off , 4 years collage, 6 years line officer USN, The list goes on, Look up what is required to become a ship's Master ( Captain ). I assure you one is NOT born into it. I simply am making an observation, Based on experience. These people are on a fools mission and people like you cheer them on, Sadistic to say the least. If two grown adults want to end their life's at their own expense, So be it. But it seldom is at their OWN expense, It usually involves the lives of good men and women of the Coast Guard or other emergency services and tax payer's dollars in the millions. YOU are in no position to tell me to give ANYTHING a rest, If anything hopefully i can open others eyes foolish enough to try and follow in their foot steps. "Until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore, you will not know the terror of being forever lost at sea." - Charles Cook
Surprised me that there were not any masts, just motor yachts. Are you stuck on a Cat or would you consider a monohull. Here's hoping you come across a boat with your name on it.
I am looking forward to your cat purchase as well. my kids are still in high school jr high and one still in middle school so we have a ways to go untill we start cat shopping. good luck guys and happy hunting.
+Golan Klinger I finally remembered from a reply to a previous video, it's the CAMI Terrawind....legit RV/boat....but, definitely out of their budget from what I hear.
+Lawrence Constantine Having done both (though never for live--aboard purposes which adds more complications than I can even imagine) even I gotta agree, RV shopping hands down....though custom builds for either RV or boat are equally difficult.
Was wondering why your so set on a catamaran? Every boat has draw backs. and I was wondering what your must haves are? monohull is nice in the fact it won't break your bank. cats are fast, roomy and can go in some shallow water but they are expensive to buy and maintain. 2 hulls= twice the cost. really be sure a cat is what you want before you buy one. go sail a nice 40 ft mono and you may be impressed with its performance and high level of comfort.
+MrSweeper They are kinda cool. We always try to include that kind of info (stuff you might have noticed in the videos) in the posts: www.gonewiththewynns.com/palm-beach-boat-show It's called nautical scout.
Great video guys, Internet on Boats...... Not been afloat for a while but the satellite option is there but soooooo expensive, most Marinas have it but once again it has to be paid for ....if it is working, up and down the intercostal is on but in then Islands ( Bahamas) it's still sketchy.... Its all about the Journey :-) You know my feelings ........... Have a charter and get the feeling .....for costs and practicality, most sailors write books :-)
+Heather Galvas We always try to include that kind of info (stuff you might have noticed in the videos) in the posts: www.gonewiththewynns.com/palm-beach-boat-show It's called nautical scout.
Not necessarily true. Depends on where you port. It's not that there is no coverage at all, just lots of drops here and there. Had friends who did it for 3 years.
If you have a dive compressor by all means make it gas. My 5hp Honda/Stewart Warner unit will fill 3 80cf tanks per hour to 3500# on very little fuel. Now 24 years old it is new again w/ new 5 hp Honda. An electric drive compressor will challenge a 5500 kw Onan at start and fill one tank per hour. Not even a close comparison. Build a steel cage to bolt to deck. These are first things stolen on night raids. chain and cable everything. psst: Go Mono, at least 40ft. Fuel often.
From internet perspective, I believe you will have a limited selection while sailing. I expect you could use a satellite service which is usually expense and so-what unreliable. When you pull into a marina, internet is either free or fee based. And what part of the world, I would expect to affect your internet options.
Hi Guys, Saw one of your videos about 2 weeks on one where you just bought your Cat. and now getting caught up. From my understanding the only internet connection you can get while on the ocean is through satellite link. Although this technology has improved, you may still opt for the nearest hotel/internet cafe. Really like your videos. You might consider putting some sort of number on them so new folks can be sure to watch them in the proper order (just a thought). 😉 ps. It'll be interesting to see if you guys get to check out a Sunreef Sailing Cat...And to get your oppion, but I suspect they might be a little out-of-budget.
Don't let people quash your dreams. Just for fun, here is a blog by our good friends, who used to have the slip next to ours in Hawaii. They are realizing their dream. Yes, it's a monohull, and yes they were already fairly experienced sailors and .it started in the rougher waters of the Pacific, but I think you'll find it enjoyable to start at the beginning of their journey and read along as they went from adventure to adventure and continue to do so. They have a FB page also, but this will give you the best diary of their adventures in the Delphinia. This is what you can expect. They are living it. delphinia458.blogspot.com
Silly Wynns, it's a Powerboat, not a Motorboat. They usually have all powerboats one show, then all sailboats for the other show, week following, etc. Different audiences.
Since you are just starting you might find our site's section on catamarans interesting www.adventuresonboats.com/catamarans.html and also the section about buying a boat www.adventuresonboats.com/buying-a-boat.html. Best wishes and fair winds, johnny
You should really consider a smaller catamaran motor yacht than a sail cat. Motored Yachts are a whole lot of less work and maintaining to do on a daily basis... For a Suggestion - Keep your motor-home and have the best of both worlds. You should consider what I am about to do myself... You Should Check into a Owner Charter where you can make money without the expenses... PLUS have your own yacht up to 9 weeks a year or a sister yacht anywhere in the world providing they have a fleet there... and it's as if it were your own.. CHARTER OWNERSHIP Experience the pride of owning a new luxury yacht without the responsibility of operating costs or maintenance. Just enjoy your owner's time aboard while we take care of everything else. The Simple Way To Own: Owning in the Charter Ownership Programs means our professional MarineMax team covers the cost and management of all yacht service appointments, yacht maintenance, charter management, insurance and docking fees. As the owner, you receive a fixed monthly payment from us that exceeds your monthly mortgage amount, regardless of charter activity, for as long as your yacht is in the charter fleet. THe wifi solution - is that for in boat or point to point (ship to shore)? As that can depend on several factors, but "in boat" is obviously straight forward. Of of course, the slightly more expensive satellite option www.bestsatelliteproviders.com/satellite-internet-providers/
At the 6 minute mark the guy told you "a tourniquet you can jury rig", bad advice. Nothing wrong with getting an AED but get a kit that covers a wide range of problems. And get to an advanced first aid course. They still don't like teaching tourniquet use to lowly civilians, but they can be a life saver.
+Scott Deney With the type of boating they wanna do, yeah it's expensive. Anytime you want something seaworthy to go out in the ocean it's gonna cost big bucks.
Georgia Yankee I think they're in for a rude awakening on what it's really gonna take to do it and it's true overall cost. They just need to stick with their RV and get some serious boating experience under their belts before biting off more than they can chew.
Ralph Hardwick Not sure what your point is with that comment, because airplanes had alot of trial and error with engineers and mechanics to figure out what would work and what wouldn't, and of course all of that took money, from their own pockets or investors.
came across this guy today for possible marine solutions. depending on where you are sailing of course. he is a sailor with tech background. maybe worth a look. www.thewirie.com/marine-wifi-lte-faq/?target=2g3g4glte-specific-questions

Giant learning curve ahead but it's great that you guys realize that and aren't naive
You guys rock!! Love your enthusiasm, your thorough research, and your smiling faces!! You're doing a great job!!
WOW!!! Such large yachts and sailboats!!! It is fun to look.... :)
I remember going to the Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD. Probably not as big as the one in Miami, but it was awesome.
Good Luck finding your floating home!
Happy to see you two starting to come back to planet Earth.

3:36 That L.R. is so cool !
You were not even drinking @2:56. LMAO
You should start buying the toys now, and use them in the RV, ;like those nesting pots and pans, and then you can easily transfer them to your boat when you findit !
Great to see you checking all the details - I'm exited when it really comes to buying your cat 😉
Eventually we sailors may see you in the sailing community asking the right questions about what you really need. Until then, it is enjoyable to watch you looking for your next adventure.
Enjoying your saga so far. Just started viewing so I don't know your current status but I hope you are cruising and cruising with Internet!
LOL! Lots of good laughs in this video! "..and not in a good way."
she is so hot..........like being wet, but not in a good way. OMG I love her.
Hahaha! I like the adult humor.
Miami and boats remind of Dexter :) keep it up Wynns!

Lol motorboat show funniest thing on this channel ever!
I love your videos. You two are truly living the dream! And the double entendres in this one were really funny. ;-)
Did you happen to notice who makes the silicone collapsible pots? Love those.
Scuba.com has a sale on dive compressors exactly like that, $2995
Alot to learn alot to absorb so how big is ur list?? Mine would be pretty long😂😂 new adventures can and are expensive but the knowledge u learn and teach all of us land lovers we greatly appreciate. 🤓🤓 thk u for taking us along 🐻
Check out the Lagoon 470. They are big comfy cats that aren't crazy expensive.
Just so crazy! I wonder what those are going for now. Jason... motor boat! Lol
You guys should think about getting a ham radio for communication purposes out on the open seas
I started watching the sailboat channel called Sailing La Vagabonde and wow just anchoring the boat can be tricky. Amazing how they spear their fish dinners. I'm addicted to that channel. They are sailing around the world. You should see the size of the lobsters! Lol
+Vagabond Mango S.V delos is good too
+Vagabond Mango I'm in love with Elayna.
+pk13910 she is flawless. But I could watch Riley for hours. :) ahhhh to be young again.
The 57' motor yacht VENDETTA is for sale too! Her stunning design is the result of a Billy Joel stylistic concept and could be yours for the low low price of $1,195,000 (plus whatever it would cost to add a mast, sails and keel) XD
Yes they were cute sunglasses. Happy hunting
yay! a live stream
The Wood Boat is Billy Joels! 1:57. On your right. Stinkpot Show!
oh my god! Who needs a boat when that land rover exists!
Today's theme: Innuendo!
+John Norris dying, lol
But not in a good way
When I was sailing, I spent more time (and money) maintaining & repairing the watermaker than it would have taken to even carry bottled water (when necessary) to fill the tanks.

+S/V Pau Hana (Sailing Vessel Pau Hana) We have AC on the list, Thanks :)
Not the type of boats you guys are looking for but a very cool show still....we want that floating iPhone case.
Motorboatin' LOL! There was a baby boat at :39.
that yacht Tristan the 110 is going for about 1.7m rn on wellington yachts
I have been to that show.
Off topic question, but what solution have you found that works best for receiving actual physical mail?

Satilite internet for farther out to sea in close boosters for 4g. All I could find when I was wondering.

I've heard that there's lots of complaints from sailors that the internet access can be an issue along with cell phone service on the water.
1000 nm out to sea, ya think? the day they set sail, will be there LAST video, ever.
Not necessarily true. Depends on where you port. It's not that there is no coverage at all, just lots of drops here and there. Had friends who did it for 3 years.

Well, one can always dream....😉
Do u guys have a skippers licence and do you have to have one to sail your own boat?
+Weesham07
No license required to drive a boat only if you hire yourself out to drive a boat.
4 grand for a suba tank filler? Seems like having a couple extra tanks would be a lot cheaper!
enter this week's FLA lottery.......
i had a 105 ft sailboat you can run her with 2 people but during a storm hold on tight

I am telling you guys... pay someone to take you sailing for a year...it will be cheaper in the long run..
+1pilotsteve Very true, but not really the freedom or the adventure that some would want.
Silly Wynns, it's a Powerboat, not a Motorboat. They usually have all powerboats one show, then all sailboats for the other show, week following, etc. Different audiences.
Nothing for radio communications?
Since you are just starting you might find our site's section on catamarans interesting www.adventuresonboats.com/catamarans.html and also the section about buying a boat www.adventuresonboats.com/buying-a-boat.html.
Best wishes and fair winds,
johnny
More boat stuff
You should really consider a smaller catamaran motor yacht than a sail cat. Motored Yachts are a whole lot of less work and maintaining to do on a daily basis...
For a Suggestion - Keep your motor-home and have the best of both worlds.
You should consider what I am about to do myself...
You Should Check into a Owner Charter where you can make money without the expenses...
PLUS have your own yacht up to 9 weeks a year or a sister yacht anywhere in the world providing they have a fleet there... and it's as if it were your own..
CHARTER OWNERSHIP
Experience the pride of owning a new luxury yacht without the responsibility of operating costs or maintenance.
Just enjoy your owner's time aboard while we take care of everything else.
The Simple Way To Own:
Owning in the Charter Ownership Programs means our professional MarineMax team covers the cost and management of all yacht service appointments, yacht maintenance, charter management, insurance and docking fees.
As the owner, you receive a fixed monthly payment from us that exceeds your monthly mortgage amount, regardless of charter activity, for as long as your yacht is in the charter fleet.

You should rent a cat in the Caribbean with a captain
THe wifi solution - is that for in boat or point to point (ship to shore)? As that can depend on several factors, but "in boat" is obviously straight forward. Of of course, the slightly more expensive satellite option www.bestsatelliteproviders.com/satellite-internet-providers/
Motorboating. Brbrbrbrbrbr. Lol
Tall Tales ???
I was thinking sea legs...
At the 6 minute mark the guy told you "a tourniquet you can jury rig", bad advice. Nothing wrong with getting an AED but get a kit that covers a wide range of problems. And get to an advanced first aid course. They still don't like teaching tourniquet use to lowly civilians, but they can be a life saver.
it sounds like he is talking about wether you can do it by youself or need a partner
mmmmmmmmm motor boating lol
Oh sorry ... I Kent to like your video!!!
Get Some Big Blue IKEA Bags
Money....Money....money, I think I will stay will an RV life.. All the toys you will need to go boating, Way toooo Much. !!!Good vid though... Thanks
+Scott Deney With the type of boating they wanna do, yeah it's expensive. Anytime you want something seaworthy to go out in the ocean it's gonna cost big bucks.
Georgia Yankee
I think they're in for a rude awakening on what it's really gonna take to do it and it's true overall cost. They just need to stick with their RV and get some serious boating experience under their belts before biting off more than they can chew.
+Tommy TwoGun if everyone thought like that we'd never have aeroplanes. Or any other thing we take for granted.
Ralph Hardwick
Not sure what your point is with that comment, because airplanes had alot of trial and error with engineers and mechanics to figure out what would work and what wouldn't, and of course all of that took money, from their own pockets or investors.
+Scott Deney b.o.a.t. = bring out another thousand but, c'mon, every sailer worth their salt knows it's worth it in the end!!
how are yall cats doing
their cat is looking for a new home preference, dry land. poor kitty.
+we tolow really? I thought they had two cats?
one, two, ten, doesn't matter, they will soon be lost at sea, starving to death. maybe they should take 100 cats, to eat.
on never mind, I commented without see the video and reading.Lol
Here's a very nice fully equipped monohull 41' in South Carolina. The featured yacht...www.yachtworld.com/fredmixyachts/fredmixyachts_0.html
