- How to build a retaining wall - step by step I show you how we built this 1500 sq ft big block retaining wall. We used Redi-Rock blocks for this project. The new wall was constructed in front of a failing CMU retaining wall.

I just want to say thank you for going into detail. I've spent the last couple weeks searching for examples of a wall that drains above grade because I wasn't sure whether to use base gravel or drainage aggregate up to the drain exit. We are planning to do a small DIY retaining wall in our front yard, and the drain needs to exit onto the sloped driveway, which is of course above the base of the wall which sits below grade. Not only is this video an example of how to do it, but it's a commercial, properly engineered example, which means I'm not just going off some random yahoos.
Your welcome, I'm glad I could help
The old wall carries a substantial liability.
Another quality job on the books!
Thank you! I appreciate it
I think that curb in front is a great idea. Permanent way to hold the bottom together. Excellent
No bricks on that goal. Kobe!!!
Would have been nice to knock down that cinder block wall above grade and stack double sided RR above grade line - would have been a win win for both sides
Nice teamwork, guys. Very safety conscious and aware too!!
Y'all made it look EZ 🙂
I can see you have a keen sense of geometry: IT SHOWS!
Adding that extra row at the top made it look much better too.
Confucius always say:
"If want job done right,
give job to busy man."
Thanks! 👍
Hahaha don't believe he sacrificed some space for the neighbours, saved himself 60k more like .
Nice job sir 👍.
that is some nice work.
Thanks 👍
These things are impressive. According to their website the specifications list these blocks at 4000+ PSI compression strength. With proper footing I dont see why you couldnt build a house on top of these things, they far exceed a typical basement wall that often times arent even reinforced at 3000 PSI.. Make your own castle.
Also to mention, Im hearing allot from contractors these are easy to instal because they stack like legos. The big part is getting the footing and base level done right.
Those blocks would be awesome to have for castle walls. Just Sayin.
Nice easy $75,000 job !
What are the dimensions of the blocks and about what do they weigh ?
looks great! that top row makes it more complete, i think. do you like laying these? curious how much one big block cost?thanx
Thank you, yes I prefer these over the hand stack blocks. There's a lot less labor with these. They range depending on size $120-$150.
@@srmcontracting So probably 120K for the entire job, including installation?
Where did the pipe drain to?
Need help with driveway it is slate break apart ,live in east Stroudsburg pa 18302 , need a wall
What’s the weight of a block?

That tall I think you should have used some geo-grid

In Cali this will never pass 😂
Why not?
ABOUT $100.000 in job altogether been landscaping for 28 years I would not do it any cheaper
You’re nuts
@@cd1168 I had a wall built 2 years ago using the same blocks, half the size of this one (52ft long, 10 tall) and it was $65k.
