"Bleu" : the correct pronounciation of "eu" is the same as the "e" in "de" (Bleu DE Chauffe). You pronounce the "de" correctly. Just do the same for "eu" in "Bleu" and you'll be good :) Also, if you didn't know, "Bleu de Chauffe" has 2 meanings : - In french, we call "bleu de chauffe" a specific cloth weared by "chauffeurs" (someone who heats something), "chauffeurs" were people who put coal in trains locomotives. They were wearing a specific workwear made of a blue cloth, named "bleu de chauffe" ("blue of heat"). - Also, "bleu de chauffe" designates a specific blue color of metals obtained by heating these metals to very high temperature. When heated, the metal gains a specific rainbow color dominated by a blue. This blue is called "bleu de chauffe" (blue of the heat). So this name is directly linked to the manufacturing universe... as the collection of Bleu de Chauffe, inspired by work bags. That's why the logo of Bleu de Chauffe is a tool. (Pardon my poor english).
Awesome review, been watching you for a long while now and I got my girlfriend to start watching you cause she always wondered why I was obsessed with leather products and buying the more expensive options of clothing and footwear, now she understands you get what you pay for, but I'd love to see you do a boot restoration or some type of leather restoration with your favorite products, cause it's oddly satisfying to see an old ragged pair of boots basically go from rags to riches
That's a really great idea, and leather is one of the few materials which really comes into its own with some TLC. I'll make a video specifically for you and your gal. Thanks for the suggestion my friend!
@@CarlMurawski I can't wait to watch it man, I'm super excited and I'll make sure she keeps and eye on your channel so she can watch it when it comes out
Love these bags - thanks for the review Carl. This one’s based on the original US Postal Bag, hence the side-cinches and different attachment for the shoulder straps. All designed so postal workers could balance their load better and allow the bag to expand and contract as they delivered mail throughout the day.
Love BDC (may be a bit biased as a French ;)). But their products are so good, that every € is rightly invested. Can't say how much I love my Business Report in tourbe (thanks madame for the gift ;)).
saddleback Made in USA. From that I have the Large Leather Briefcase. I highly recommend the Saddleback Leather Company! But the bag you presented here would be worth considering. Greetings from Germany
Hey man I'm a big fan and I've been wearing cowboy boots for the past 10 years and I want to switch to lace up work boots and I was wondering about your opinion on timberland because I've been looking at the steel toe pit bosses and I would like to know your opinion on them and timberland in general, thank you man and keep up the good work
Thanks man! Timberland has definitely seen their fair share of ups and downs. However, their Pro series of boots has always gotten favorable reviews. The Pit Boss is Goodyear welted and all that good stuff, but the only thing that gives me pause is the synthetic insole. Some people like this and many claim that synthetic is superior to leather in many ways, but I’ve always felt that it goes flat rather quickly. Mostly because closed and open cell foam needs time to “recover” and basically re-inflate.
What's your take on Billy Kirk? Always wanted one of their satchels and finally got one but have noticed so many other brands now via your channel and many other outlets, just wanted to see where they place amongst the rest.
Hey Carl this is way off from this video, but I’m thinking about going into the electrical trade and was wondering what you think of veto pro packs? I have watched a lot of videos on TH-cam but most of them are hvac guys..
Excellent review - I think you covered the construction, design, functionality, durability aspects of the bag very well. Thank you! PS: New subscriber here! :)
Great review, Carl. Appears to be a viable three-day bag for frequent business travelers. I don't think it is a good idea to sink that much cash into a bag unless you are a frequent flyer.
Recently I’ve been applying to jobs but sometimes feel a bit too casual with the khakis and button up shirt. What do you recommend someone who’s job searching (in my case for my first job so money is tight) wear to an interview to give the best impression?
I would buy this bag if it had strings so it work as backpack. It would be worn a lighter 13 inch carry bag that would cover all my needs when going to work. Construction wise if they had the dark brown leather wrapped around, as you mentioned saddlebacks design, it give more support to the flops you were pointing out.
Thanks so much for this review. I loved all the details you provided, especially about the material and artisanry. Your French pronunciation is very good: note that the first word, however, is not "blue" the way we say in English, but more like "bleu." Since you notice details, you'll see that the b-l-e-u is different than our b-l-u-e, even though both words mean the color we call blue in English. The "eu" pair in French sounds more like "euh." I hope that makes sense.
Great review. I liked how in depth your description is of every detail of the bag. However, I must disagree in your assessment that this bag will hold up with the test of time. I noticed only grommets and there were no stitching on any of the point of attachment for the support straps. As we all know, leather will stretch and with the amount of stuff the bag can hold, I feel it will eventually fail. Nevertheless, the bag is aesthetically beautiful. I give you that. I have been a fan of leather for many years. I remember buying my first leather backpack when I was in high school in the late 80's. I was very proud of it.
Well, as I mentioned it will all depend on your loadout. For the guy bringing a laptop and some papers to work I believe it will hold up. For anyone with a lot of stuff, or just hard-use I'd go with a bag where the handle attaches to a steel plate and suspended by straps rather than the leather of the body. Like so many things, it just depends on the intended use.
Out of the last 20 videos, only two have been about leather bags. That’s 10%. I’ve also done several boot videos, some history videos, a piece on trades vs college, and a couple guide/how-to videos. I’m not sure what you expect, but this is what I’m making and if you feel the need to unsubscribe that’s your choice.
I loved how in depth you go in the uses and functionality of the bag.

What a great review and definitely going on the future purchase list. They look incredible
It's great, and I've brought it on plenty of trips where it performed flawlessly!
Can you please make a video about lined vs unlined bags. I bet there are pros and cons with both...
Thanks for all the reviews you do! It really helps and I hope you don’t stop doing you tube I love these videos!

That's a nice bag, and great colour.
I agree, it’s a beautiful tan which has already begun to darken in some spots!
Just got one. Amazing bag! Love it!
Ray, which one did you get?
Is there any pull-up to it? Does it seem like it will patina? Thanks!
No pull-up on the body, but there is on the straps. The body leather is veg tanned where the straps are some kind of hot-stuffed leather.

Heya, Carl! I’ve had my BDC mid-sized sac Eclair (postal) for about 2-3 years now, and totally love the way it’s wearing. 🙌🏻😊🙌🏻
Nice bag. I like this kind of bag. It is very comfortable to touch, especially in summer when you carry it all the day such as during a business trip.

@@aliberator601 because BDC is a french based company (just closed to Millau Viaduct), and some family members live there.

Thanks for the review. It would be great to be see more real world video of the bag being carried in hand, over shoulder, stuffed with gear, etc
Carl hey man have you thought on doing any Hondo boots,Olathe boots,or any new custom western boots at all?
I’d like to but I’m not too familiar with most western brands. We’re kind of in a bubble here in New England!
What's your take on Billy Kirk? Always wanted one of their satchels and finally got one but have noticed so many other brands now via your channel and many other outlets, just wanted to see where they place amongst the rest.
Have had my eye on one of these or one of their smaller bags. Would love to see a follow-up!
as a native french speaker, your pronunciation... on point 👌
What's this bag color ? I don't know how to distinguish the "Honey", "Cuba Libre" and "Pain Bluree". Please tell me, thanks veryr much.
Would love to see an update on this bag! Please? :)

So many innuendos in this video Carl 🤣🤣
I’m very curious, if you were choosing between this brand or Cravar, which would your gut tell you to go with?
Probably this. Cravar is nice, but these are a tier above especially their leather.
Thank you! I was torn because both seemed great at the price point but imma go with this brand
hi Carl have you ever try the panama jack boots.!!!!????
I never have
