Bro its because of his unique technique too. Kokushibo was caught off guard by his use of his weapons. He has never seen anyone in centuries fight like him. Even the weapon used by Gyomei was so advanced and it didn’t exist during the time Kokushibo was a human. Everything about his fighting style was completely new to him still Gyomei didn’t scratch him. Even though he is a demon he is evading all the attacks just like demon slayers.
