My dad was on this assignment..he was a driver in that mission..I remember one night he called us to tell us he will die tonight and we could hear bullets raining but by the grace of God he made it out alive ..only to lose his life on duty again peace keeping mission in Somalia 2014.
Once a soldier always a soldier..
I will never be able to move on from his death .what hurts most is he died for a country that treats me like a second class citizen a country that won’t give my brothers and sisters national identity card ,I am singled out in a group coz I am somali ..a country that won’t give me a job or any opportunity to help myself!

This is a beautiful story and I've actually been to brigadier Mulinges place in Athi River ..beautiful place very serene with wild life..also you will get a clearer picture of the child soldiers and their mind intoxicated with drugs when you watch blood diamonds Leaornado di Caprio

look for Kenya in Iran or Iraq in the late 80's, it was so successful under #GeoffreyOkanga he was promoted to Major Gen. and recently Ugandan ambassador to Kenya.

Happy new year to each of you. God is always sovereign over all. May we put our faith in Him and His word always!

I have medics i know who quit medicine because in their words, "I can't keep seeing people die who didn't have to die but did because of lack of facilities and equipment." Some of these doctors went into preventive medicine, others went into public health and others left the country

Glad to get this story from the army/soldier perspective. I got to read about the war from Ishmael Beah's book "memoirs of a boy soldier" where he narrates his journey as a child soldier in the Sierra Leone war. Barikiwa mkuru

That fact of flattening the village is very true. It is Rarely (mostly as a last result) employed by the Army wakitafta watu wao wenye wako captured. coz some(rebels) are really good in guerilla war and the terrain favours them plus massive numbers coz vita iko kwao. I know of a place they flattened mpaka Kuku wanapiga Bunde. The next village iliskia ivo walikua wanaona mtu anakaa suspicious kwa village wanakimbia kusema(to the army). They pointed out all hidding places (the villagers)coz walikua sympathaisers. That was in iraq
