damn double uploading this week mans been working working 🤝 edit: for davinci if you're shooting 10bit video you'll need the studio version just learned this yesterday after getting my camera
I remember older videos when people in the comments always "copied" your EXACT setup in hopes of becoming as successful as you xD People need to learn that copying someone wont bring them any success in the long run, use the tooling you're comfortable with.
The main thing for me was the "Show Path Bar" and "Show Status Bar", which helps me out big time. I also lowered the Dock magnification so it much easier to go through now and I increased the mouse speed a bit. Small changes but makes my Mac experience so much better. Thanks again!@@brianruizy
You'll end up on Linux, using markdown + Obsidian instead of Notion, rofi instead of raycast, Firefox instead of Safari, Chrome and Arc, Neovim instead of VSCode. Bold prediction? Quite! Might not happen soon, but I have seen this with so many developers who are tweaking their productivity stack to the max.
Solid prediction except I did it the other way around. A while ago I was using Linux / Firefox / Atom, but sometimes I found myself spending too much time trying to configure things. But still big fan of plain markdown, made my website to use mdx for posts
@@brianruizy You raise a very valid point. Back in my Mac days everything came essentially pre-configured. Now I have to do everything from scratch. Upside: it's exactly how I want it. Downside: tweaking is a major productivity hog and it can take years to recoup the time investment. In my book it boils down to this: workflow > tools
1:30 bro....i literally do the same thing.....i don't like big icons and docks....i keep them on the smallest size possible. bro !! you gave wallpapers.....i am an absolute fan o wallpaper.....i literally change wallpapers every other day.......as you can see in my profile pic, i put this wallpaper today.....and probably i will change that tomorrow....who knows
Your Color quality has been really nice from the jump, the audio though does need a bit of work. For example the transitions between several screen recordings and you speaking in frame is very noticeable. Noticed it distinctly first in the previous video. You’re doing great though!
Hello, a very helpful video. Can you tell me how you made the video effect starting from the third-minute sequence when you’re showing the screen? I really like that mouse movement and screen zoom in and zoom out effect. I use Adobe Premiere Pro, can I create it there? Tnx a lot!
Hello, I am a computer science student and I am entering my final 2 years of university, but I need to change my PC fairly quickly. However, I'm not sure which MacBook Air to choose between the M1, M2, or M3, and I'm undecided on whether to go for a base model or one with more RAM and storage for my development tools (Eclipse/IntelliJ, VSCode, Docker, Android Studio, etc.). Also, considering that I will keep it for at least 3 years.
Excellent video friend, thanks for sharing it with us. I see you use logitech MX Master, I bought it a few months ago but I can't make it work smoothly. When I connect it via bluetooth, it is choppy, it can be used normal but for precision situations it is quite annoying. Do you also have this problem? Do you connect it via Bluetooth or with the USB C connector?
The usb 2.4ghz dongle is a much more consistent connection. I noticed issues using the mouse with bluetooth as any other bluetooth devices will cause interference.
hey why you don't use chrome as default browser because it is recommended for most of the web developers and can I use Android studio emulator instead of Xcode Simulator??? coz it take lot of space?
These videos are good! I’m trying to chose a macbook for swiftU development, any recommendations? is the M1 Pro 16 your using good one? I feel it's huge. Good to see you didn’t upgrade. Would MacBook Air m1 be good option for Xcode as well? Currently have the 2015 pro version and I can’t justify the upgrade but it's getting slow and no support.
If I could pick again I would go with the 14 in Pro, because of how huge it is lol. Yeah I didn't feel like I needed to upgrade M1 is perfect still. For Xcode/ swift generally you should be fine with the Air
Yea same here looking at smaller laptops! But the price is what’s controlling my decision, 16inch m1 is cheaper than m2 14 inch somehow. Thanks for confirming that Air should work with swift, I’m horrified that m1 8ram won’t and Fanless won’t take The load.
Any advice on which browser to use? It’s really confusing. (macOS and ios). Currently after ios18 Safari is so slow for me. Tested arc on mac but didn’t feel Anything extra. What about chrome? And ios?
Safari is my go to browsing, surprised you have performance issues as it’s the fastest one for Mac. But for coding I used chrome/arc for the dev tools only
Is a MacBook Air ok to buy to learn how to code? Bear in mind that I’m ignorant about coding. I’m a railroader and I want to get out of this work. I don’t want to buy a Pro if an Air will do. Money is kind of tight right now.
Hi @brianruizy I know your probably not going to read this but if you do I just want to say that I love your vids they are so well constructed and are very informative. On that note I would like to ask if you could please make a video on ur VS Code setup as I use windows and would like to see what your settings are like as I am currently in College in the UK studying CS and as a project am making a website but have no clue about the needed extentions and other helpful settings in VS Code. On a final note I would like to add for your subtitles you can copy the settings in Final cut and then create a preset in Davinci then you can use the auto captions feature to make the captions less of a hastle. Thanks, Keep up the good work. Fazer

Great video as always! Where do you get your fcp plugins? Which ones are your favorite?
Thanks! I don’t have any plugins just frame.io. Which effect are you looking for?
@@brianruizy Oh okay. Just the general ways you display your titles & the transitions in your videos. I thought they were some sort of plugins.
@@AriTayy nope. It’s all custom title fields using SF Pro font. For transitions I prefer the simple ones like “wipe”

yeah for company usage
how many GB ram & SSD Storage is in your MacBook?
I got the base M1 Pro, no upgrades, 16 GB RAM 500GB SSD
That's amazing, I really underestimated how powerful the M1 Pro was/Is.@@brianruizy
As Someone new getting into programming and data analytics would you suggest a 15'' inch air or a 14'' inch pro (m3 non pro) ?
For intro programming Air is fine. But to future proof yourself for data analytics / data science then maybe it’s best to go with the Pro
Hey Brian!
sheeshh literally just commented this last day hehe thanks !!!!

Not really, for web development at least you don’t need a super powerful computer.
