I got an Orange CR60, which wasn't even on my radar. Then a 112 cab to go with it. I also got a Strat, but then found out that I don't really get on with them.

For the first time since I was a beginner, in nearly 40 years of playing, I no longer own a valve amp. Modellers/solid state are SO good these days. Dave - you could get a great tone out of anything. Legend. Rock on!
Dave, you did a Q/A recently on dialing in an amp, bottom line was ."know what you looking for". You just demonstrated this superbly on this unboxing. You have good ears Sir, always a pleasure to watch you.
Major props to you, good sir. You're an Orange ambassador. You've got Anderton's and Boss sending you stuff. You've come a long way and it's a great thing to see. If I can make a suggestion, you can use your livestream setup you did the other day to both talk and fiddle with the amp. If you download OBS too, you can just record straight onto your computer through your camera/mics/interface. Keep up the great work.
I love how enthusiastic he gets and the complete utter joy he beams with like a kid on Christmas morning. His playing is inspiring which that raw emotion and passion is so desperately lacking in today's player's. That thing isn't the nextone it's a Davetone lol I use to never play clean but man I've been missing some lovely sounds.

Enjoy my Brother. I have the Artist and the Katana Artist. I've ordered and am waiting for delivery of the Special. Thanks for the impressions. I too think that the Katana Artist is a great amp but after playing the Nextone Artist for the last few months, I choose it over the Katana. The "Tube Logic" that Roland Corp. invented and now uses in the Nextone line has a reaction much like a great tube amp different guitars and. pickups respond in various ways. You enthuiasm ignites the passion for music in all of us. God Bless!
I went into the guitar store tonight to check out the Fender Champion 100 and 100XL and fell in love with the BOSS amps. I figured I'd give them a shot and was blown away. They just sounded better, had more volume, really nice full cleans and some nice dirty tones and were definitely louder than their counterparts. Plus that Wattage switch is really nice. I tried out the Mk-II Artist and the Nextone Artist and both of them impressed me so much that I'm gonna have to go with a BOSS. They make great pedals and I guess they make great amps as well, they know their way around electronics.
He does not mic the amp so we can feel the psychoacoustic feels about the amp in the room!! Finally I can really hear the sound of actual amp! This is the best review of Nextone. Gonna have one one day. Thank you Mr. Dave and I love your hair too!
Most unboxing videos are informational and instructional. Dave is all about genuine emotion, reaction, capturing and transferring a special feeling to the viewer which is way more effective.
YES! I have to admit: your unboxing demos just put a big smile in my face and i love sitting on the fence watching you to put stuff through its paces .... Boss seems to know this tubelogic stuff and did put out a very solid amp for every gigging/recording musician .... errr .... well ... i should exclude the "cork sniffers" ... But is i close my eyes and just listen ... the Nextone just delivers fine tones! We hope your enjoying the Nextone Artist Special in your home environment.Judging by your smile and your fingers running all over the fret board like a naughty child playing tick tack toe. One thing I liked about the Nextone is the simplicity to dial in your tone. Dave's tone is a pleasure to listen to but also watching you play. I was wondering if your using natural light? it's slightly dark like a deep cave but hey you might feel comfortable as I find studio lighting to bright personally. I have used table lamps with warm led globs facing the corner and upwards towards the ceiling may help it's soft soft back lighting. hopefully this helps PS I do like the back ground wall hanging and your old faithful just in the shadows I bought 2 MG's and yes they have mo jo I can't get from later models.

What a great sounding amp, and thanks for showing us what it can do. I have suspected that this one is going to be great and I am convinced. Another amp to consider this against: the Yamaha THR100HD. Dual channel, similar tube selection mode. It's pretty old compared to this, but I think it'll make an interesting comparison. (Sidenote: prop your amp on a cajun for that Dave ompf!)
I had a Nextone Stage and absolutely loved it. I should never have let it go. I have been looking at getting another combo amp for knocking around with and have been thinking about the Nextones again. Good vid, I think I am going to get the special now! Cheers Dave!
You are an old soul and a young man's body you remind me so much of the personality of Ian Anderson from the band Jethro Tull you're so spontaneous authentic and real I watched your video with your two friends last night in France where you guys jammed in their apartment I think you found your band at the end you guys were just so in tune to each other all you need is a bass player and a drummer and you need to start writing music and producing albums I'm all the way in Sumner which is just outside of Seattle Tacoma Washington and if you ever visit the Pacific Northwest I'll be more than happy to cook all of you a meal I lost my lead guitar player from my band who's been a friend for 25 years 2 years ago this week I miss him greatly and now I found three new friends to share my passions with I'm not a good guitar player I've been trying since I was 13 and I'm 64 years old now but whatever refreshing thing to find you and your friends in France... Nicole is a phenomenal violinist and her talents just move right over to that strategaster guitar again thank you I'll keep an eye out I'm subscribing to all of you and look forward to hearing your band make music... Dave you really did a great and honest review on the Amp, I am so glad to finally see a review of it, I reviewed the Nextone stage on my TH-cam channel a while back, and have been debating weather to get the Nextone Artist, but now after seeing the review on this new model, I really want it. Of course you are a fantastic player, and I am a hack, I have only been playing 20 months and self teaching, but I believe good equipment is a key to getting the sound a person is looking for, I have the katana mark 2 100 watt and 2 katana 50s , and a Bugera v22 tube amp, I don’t think any manufacturer can come close to Boss amps, they are the best.
I loved this one. I am and have been waiting for this review. Can't wait for the next with side by side. Because as you know by my comments, I have been on the verge of getting a proper amp. So my debate has been, fender blues jr, Boss Katana, and the Boss Nextone.

Guys that makes reviews and demos; this is how has to be done. That lead tone is one of the best things I have heard from you Dave. You don`t need to try sell anything you just put it in the basket.
There aren't any Katana 50's in stock over here, so I was heading into the shop tomorrow to see if I want to buy a Nextone Stage 40, for twice as much as the Katana. Now your demo has me thinking I'll be forever hankering for those tones coming out of this Special. The Special is almost 4 Katana over here.If I'm hearing those tones accurately, I think the Special might be a bargain.
Wouldn’t bother with the Katana 50, get the 100! The foot switch WONT work with the 50, only the 100! Let’s you access effects and channels much easier for live use!
Dave you should make a video of what pedals you would buy for.a pedal board I'd like to see your choices on like a thousand dollar budget but I'd like to see your ultimate Pedal board with no budget. That is if you haven't made a video like that yet. I know what'd you'd buy for a grand if it was for a guitar and amp... you would probably get a mexican strat and a katana 50. I did it crazy that you love a guitar way more that cost way less than another too. Your even happy with a bullet , in today's material world that's another inspiration right there.

Nice amp. I have a MkI & MkII Katana 100. I've never played an Kat Artist but I hear the upgraded speaker is really nice. If you haven't downloaded the Sneaky Amps or the Dumble Amps you definitely should.
Well for me I consider alot of the what's more crunchy , bluesy sound clean ... well far more cleanish than I do. It is a lead dirt kinda sound that he gravitates too but Dave has great tone in any genre.... he can make any amp sound great. Which that ear is priceless and took years to acquire I'm sure. I wonder if he has done any ear training or if it came natural. Which I'd probably go with the latter , I'd assume he got it from years of tweaking amps and having patience. He don't seem like the kinda guy to get frustrated and give up. He seems like the kind of guy that's like I know there is a good sound in here somewhere. Hence the acoustic he dropped to C , watch his guitar collection video .... case in point.

Damn that sounds mega! I got worried at first when you had the american sound engaged haha. It's funny how eq works so differently on different amps! Some work together and some just turn it off haha. Btw with the tone studio thing you can change to your fav digital delay and different reverb :) :) love it! The speaker in that thing is AMAZING
Cant wait for a full 'Dave' review on this one!! simple reason, i will never get rid of my marshall. the only place for a new amp to go is on top of said marshall. I'm only 5'6" so cant reach the dials on a Katana so need front dials!!!

Yeah, I use my a/b box and play a Spider Jam 75 mic Into my boss acoustic singer live,my fender xl 50, and a vox valvetronix mother board in a Hughes and Letter cab with a tung sol tube, sound is insane,amp stack!

That is if you haven't made a video like that yet. I know what'd you'd buy for a grand if it was for a guitar and amp... you would probably get a mexican strat and a katana 50. I did it crazy that you love a guitar way more that cost way less than another too. Your even happy with a bullet , in today's material world that's another inspiration right there.

Nice amp. I have a MkI & MkII Katana 100. I've never played an Kat Artist but I hear the upgraded speaker is really nice.
If you haven't downloaded the Sneaky Amps or the Dumble Amps you definitely should.
Well for me I consider alot of the what's more crunchy , bluesy sound clean ... well far more cleanish than I do. It is a lead dirt kinda sound that he gravitates too but Dave has great tone in any genre.... he can make any amp sound great. Which that ear is priceless and took years to acquire I'm sure. I wonder if he has done any ear training or if it came natural. Which I'd probably go with the latter , I'd assume he got it from years of tweaking amps and having patience. He don't seem like the kinda guy to get frustrated and give up. He seems like the kind of guy that's like I know there is a good sound in here somewhere. Hence the acoustic he dropped to C , watch his guitar collection video .... case in point.

Damn that sounds mega! I got worried at first when you had the american sound engaged haha. It's funny how eq works so differently on different amps! Some work together and some just turn it off haha. Btw with the tone studio thing you can change to your fav digital delay and different reverb :) :) love it! The speaker in that thing is AMAZING

Cant wait for a full 'Dave' review on this one!! simple reason, i will never get rid of my marshall. the only place for a new amp to go is on top of said marshall. I'm only 5'6" so cant reach the dials on a Katana so need front dials!!!

Yeah, I use my a/b box and play a Spider Jam 75 mic Into my boss acoustic singer live,my fender xl 50, and a vox valvetronix mother board in a Hughes and Letter cab with a tung sol tube, sound is insane,amp stack!
