My dad gave me his 1970 4 X 4, 3/4 ton, 392 CI, 5 speed with OD and granny gear (yeah, try to find that on a truck now), same "metallic lime green" as this one, bought it new for $5,500. . . I found an old receipt in it that was for gas at 15 cents a gallon . . .
As a kid I remember going from Canada to Mexico and every state west of the Mississippi during summer vacations. . . every other weekend of summer camping and fishing, fall we went Grouse hunting, winter Deer hunting and skiing, sledding, inner tubing, and never had any problems from the truck.
It sat unused for 10 years so I replaced and restored some things as a precaution, nothing was bad. For the next 20 years that beast took my wife and kids and I anywhere we wanted to go and never let us down or stranded us, it was like a friend and I miss it everyday. . .

There was a green one like this running around in my neighborhood well into the '90s.

What a dream-truck that is. I’d prefer that with its 90K miles, for my 3 boys and I, over ANY 2020 Suburban or Expedition with 0 miles. EASILY.

I don't think anything from 1971 had door gaps that good.

wwwooowww …..we had either a 1970 or 1971 …..same color and woodgrain panel ….not a 4x4 tho …..not an auxillary gas tank ...just one ….and interior was a different design if I remember right ….and when it was bought new did not come with a/c …..dad put in an a/c unit himself after market …..I always laugh ...we had one of the first SUVs yyyyeeeaarrrsss ago …..thanks for sharing …….and is this considered a classic car now ???? …..who would da thunk that ...hahahahaha
