Love your reaction to Colm. You have to check out the metal edition of his original song "Now, Colly (Special Edition)". Great classic Irish feel to it with amazing metal tones integrated. Basically all of his metal stuff recently has been great.
Colm has been writing music for a long time. He sings as well but it was not his primary focus originally. He is a bass singing contemporary music and well known in that community and has even sung with The Bass Gang a group of international bass singers who put out acapella music from time to time featuring other bass singers like Tim Foust and Elliott Robinson composed of Peter Barber (USA), Bobby Bass (USA), Tomi P (Czechia) & Marwan Ayman (Egypt). Lots to check out there with Colm and the others.
OMG I love this version too. With this version I think he has struck a balance between the softer why is this still happening in the verses of The Cranberries version with the anger and grit of the chorus like Peyton Parrish.
For your next rising star you should do the bass gang. It is the acapella band that Marwan Ayman is in and they do a cover of yellow flicker beat with Colm as their guest
John, please react to Colm's cover of Sound of Silence. Just like this song, it's a cover of a cover. He does a cover of Disturbed's cover of Simon and Garfunkel's version. It's so good
fun fact: colm is a bass, i recommend some of his videos where he goes into his lower register.

Wow, I'm impressed with his voice! Damn the Cranberries are hard to cover because they are one of a kind!
