I’m going to warn you first if you haven’t watched the entire 3-part series yet, do it now! Everyone on our show, chefs, hosts, and production is vegan and holds the same compassionate values. Chef Nicole Derseweh, the winner of Peeled, even mentions how she was passed up for less-qualified individuals in other cooking competitions because she simply said she would not be working with animal products.
Chef Jaena Moynihan opens up about being transgender and that creating vegan meals with her family in the kitchen was some of the happiest memories growing up in an ugly and unaccepting world. Next, chef Nicole Derseweh and Chef Donald Lemperle both open up about how going vegan transformed their outlook on health and how they were able to prevent and cure diseases with a plant-based diet. Finally, chef Sandra Hurtault lets us all know that working and cooking with vegetables can be innovative and imaginative as she is able to recreate her favorite European dishes using only plants in trial and error techniques.
The cast and crew of Peeled are a treasure to find. Everyone was so compassionate and loving towards each other, and if I could quote Chef Babette Davis I would, but you’ll have to watch to find out. So enjoy this behind-the-scenes and be sure to watch all three episodes if you haven’t already!
