Ateneo de Manila University posted a "Happy Pride Month" photo the first day of June 2024. Should Catholic schools celebrate Pride Month? Let's talk about that.

Hello Jay! Thank you for having this podcast and I believe you've touched many lives in every discussion you have in your page. I am a proud Catholic, I am straight, married with one child, and a member of the Ateneo Faculty in Basic Education.
I think the very point of our university in the celebration of Pride Month is that we want to hear voices of our friends in the LGBTQ+ that they, too, have all the freedom to choose and express their gender preferences, identity and the like. The celebration did not condone any ‘malicious acts’ nor did it promote to perform sexual promiscuity as part of its celebration, rather a festivity of freedom, acceptance, equality and equitability. The Pride Month also aimed to mitigate gender-based violence & discrimination not only to LGBT but to the rest of the population.
While we strictly keep and practice our Catholic faith in the whole school, and conservativeness still plays a major part in the community, the influence of media is inevitable. Though, there are certain rules that we cannot bend to gratify freedom of expressions and gender preferences.
It is really a big challenge on our part (and our children), how we can convey to their understanding the things happening around us knowing that secularism, modernism, and other radical changes in society have greatly overtaken the traditional ways we so embraced, let alone Catholic traditions. I will strongly uphold that the foundation of their morality, faith and belief always emanates from the family - the forger of personalities.
Please let me know your thoughts about my insights. Thank you!

You are misleading people to their spiritual peril. Didn't Christ Jesus say to evangelize and to baptize and preach repentance to the lost? I cannot believe how the SJ's would allow the celebration of "pride." Pride, my brother, is a Cardinal Sin which will lead people to Mortal Sin. Not to mention people celebrating Pride take "pride" in their sexual desire. Seems carnal in nature and hedonistic to me. And not to mention you call yourselves "Catholic Institution" yet you allow and endorse the celebration of these abominable deeds.
Not to mention you are advocating for people to express their gender identity? Isn't the Devil the father of lies and confusion?
*“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven."*
You, the people of Ateneo and the staff, had one job and that was to lead the lost into the light. Instead of bringing Catholicism in to the Modern World, it has rather promoted Catholicism as the Church *of* the Modern World.
