When I fought this boss for the first time, I felt as if I was fighting a part of myself, although rengoku wasn't my favorite character, I still felt as if myself, as the characters, were fighting with eachother. It was a beautiful experience
Guess that's what happens on a game original episode. That stance that tanjiro said was a really powerful stance was a basic and a little dangerous for the user in when you are getting into actual japanese swordplay. This anime is actually pretty decently accurate to japanese swordplay. The game original episode has almost nothing of that. In actual swordplay the final clash of the two swords would not have lasted 2 seconds before somebody got impaled or sliced.
Rengoku always says set your heart ablaze and idk if anyone else notices it but when tanjiro gets rengokus flame hilt he holds it on his heart therefore “setting his heart ablaze” such a beautiful scene

Ima be honest I never finished the anime or watch the movie so this game really was a first time experience and it was awesome, but when this fight happened all I could do was smile with tears in my eyes as I fought him and I got do right by this fight and got an unexpected S rank.

Having read the manga and knowing that is not how Tanjiro gets Rengoku's flame hilt, I can say that it was still very cool the way the game did it.
