    That's think it was Scarlett's mum who rang the police to say her daughter had been in the park area where Brianna had been found. I'm not sure what she knew at that point, but she was doing the right thing. She also seems to be in contact with Brianna's mum and has thanked her for her support and talked about the shock and horror and how sorry they are. Thanks for this Jon. It seems ludicrous that there are financial restraints on testing of items in this case and quite possibly many more too. How can this be acceptable when millions of £'s are spent on things happening in areas outside of the UK. I was wondering if the forensics was done by the Forensic Science Service or a private sector firm. Upon a bit of research I now know that in 2010 HMG closed the FSS because "The UK Government announced the closure of the FSS in December 2010, citing monthly losses of up to £2m as justification" Wow. Why would a state forensic service be expected to make a profit? It's preposterous. This does explain why we hear so much about all the private labs in the UK. I thought they complimented the presumably busy FSS, I had no idea they were a replacement.
    So there we have it. UK police forces have to budget their forensic evidence as they cant have evidence tested inhouse.
    This is a scandal and the proposal to close the service should have been newsworthy and more widely known. Even in the uber free market United States most law enforcement agencies most notably the FBI have inhouse forensic services.
    In any event this at least answers the question as to why the force couldn't afford to test as much as they would have otherwise liked to.
    Great video. Thanks for taking the time to cover these case, I particularly was fascinated by your courtroom coverage of the Letby case and I hope you can cover another trial soon.

So us mums go in there rooms to make the beds , take in clean washing an get the plates they take in there . For a child to be addicted to these movies there would of been changes in her .

      Unless you suspected your child was a killer, you’d not notice anything odd. What kind of mother would suspect their baby was a murderer? You only notice/connect things when you’re looking for them, otherwise it’s just “stuff”. What an absolute horror to know your child is a killer. It’s just inconceivable, hence blocking out any evidence that might indicate this. We all do this, it’s how the brain works.

    This all is very disturbing vis-a-vis the competence of Eddie's barrister. The CCTV footage of the pair meeting Brianna at the bus stop clearly shows Scarlett had a black tank top, black culottes, trainers and a burgundy coat which may have tassels from its base. So, it is clear that forensic evidence from a "red top" is useless and "leggings" sounds suspect. From the items listed, no wonder none of Brianna's blood was found on Scarlett's clothes! This needed to be thoroughly explored by Eddie's barrister in court. After all, Eddie's defence was that Scarlett inflicted the wounds and he only got blood on himself when stooping over Brianna. And now, Scarlett has admitted to the psychologist that she indeed stabbed Brianna "lots of times". Convictions have been overturned by the Court Of Appeal for much less (yes indeed, Ched Evans).
    It also raises questions over whether the parent(s) of Scarlett and Eddie should be charged with assisting offenders. How much washing did Scarlett's mother do?...

    • @juliew1824
      @juliew1824 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No she wasnt. She had a burgundy red cardigan, wrap or similar top on over a black square necked t-shirt or similar underneath. Red top is perfectly adequate to describe it. No coat at all. And the black bottoms could be described as trousers or leggings. Not all leggings are skin tight like gym clothes. Leggings or jeggings describes trousers with an estimated waist and usually no zip or button band.

      @@SomeoneBeginingWithI Nobody washed Eddie's clothes. He just bunged them in his wardrobe. Hence the forensic evidence of them being covered in Brianna's blood. As for Scarlett, there was washing on the kitchen floor when the police arrived. That is, a few hours after Scarlett told her Mum she'd been out with Brianna the previous day and her Mum then phoned the police. Scarlett immediately texted Eddie to warn him and received no reply. Now, if you were Scarlett's Mum in that situation, would you not start asking a few questions of your daughter? Someone did a good deal of washing in the Jenkinson household immediately before the police arrived. If that was Mum washing bloodied clothes or even Mum allowing Scarlett to use the washing machine to wash bloodied clothes, Mum has committed a criminal offence.

It is very common for the clothing description to be wrong. People remember the event but not the fine details. The memory also changes the word used in the question. For example using the word 'smashed' will give a different answer than the word 'crashed'. Human memory is very flawed.

    4:45 I do have a certain level of amusement at how people like this see psychopaths as having “genius”. Firstly it’s because they want to think they are a genius too, which feeds into their narcissism. Now fair to say a psychopath is usually high functioning but the “genius” bit is usually how a psychopath considers themselves and the types of psychs at court who fall for the sort of crap the one defending the boy did. They miss the basic things they get wrong, which is a good indication that the psychopath isn’t a genius they’ve just studied a very small area of certain things very thoroughly but usually don’t have the motivation to to study these things properly. So if you scratch below the surface to a basic level, you’ll find they have massive gaps on knowledge about the basics. This is because the basics are boring and the narcissistic side of their personality assumes they already know the basic stuff so don’t need to study it.
    It isn’t rocket science but I’m shocked how many experts don’t pick up on this.

Ironic that the note had a small love heart at the top corner shouts out to you that she lacks a healthy conscience which came out in the trial. Worrying that Police were not on point with the evidence. Seeing her with makeup then the mug shot, show's the real person behind the mask. But hearing more of the notes I have no doubt the sentence was way too short. The she so immature to leave it lying around but it did contain future plans to do similar and the same again, therefore she kept them along with her collection of memorabilia. They were probably precious to her. She was the ringleader.

    Each one of our police forces have their own budgets, payed for by your council tax, so no two police forces have the same budgets, and they really do have to use thrift when using outsourced expensive processes like DNA or scientific support and so on, sad but true and that's the reason why we have such a shoddy police service.
