Tornado used to be rare in Pakistan; frequency was, say, one in 10-15 years but due to climate changes now they are becoming more frequent and violent. One prominent event was on 28 March 2001 in Chak Misri (Bhalwal) with major damages to infrastructure and livestock, an event on 27April 2015 in Peshawar also suspected to be a Tornado, A similar event was recorded in Marala (near Sialkot) in March 2011. A smaller event was recorded in Chaklala (Rawalpindi) in 2006.
