Beautiful Medieval Church..It was really interesting that the priest or vicar lives on there too.,more often or not they had a small house nearby. The Knight was in great condition !I am pleased they covered him!it will protect him.Usually the Knights are buried in a tomb within the church, and his statue is laid on a pillow on the top of it.He looks like he’s free standing though.Still looks nerdy forboding and impressive, even though he’s very old.Fabulouse walk around Sue..Love n Light to you both 🥰

thank you for taking me along once again to your beautiful green countryside. what a fascinating place that is, i would love to have seen it when it was first built. i seem to recall reading that if the legs are crossed on a knights effigy that it means he was in the Crusades. if i recall correctly, in Holy Land family tombs, carved in the soft limestone or sandstone are large half moon niches in the walls are where a body was laid out for i think a year to dessicate, and the dry bones were then gathered up and placed in a carved stone box called an ossuary, only as long as a femur, the longest bone. the ossuary is then placed in a niche in the soft stone wall of the family tomb. Progress and urban sprawl disturbs tombs regularly, and the bones are taken off and blessed and buried in an unpublished place by a Rabbi, and the ossuary is then archived. that is a dry desert method, i wouldn't think dessication would be why there are half moon niches built into the walls of that place you showed us. perhaps for lying in state or other ceremony? if only those walls could talk.

Another wonderful video Sue. It is too bad that people have to desecrate burial places, they may have gotten away with then, but will have to face the ultimate judgement later. That knight is stunning - he is in amazing condition! I’m currently reading a novel that takes place in the 1300’s - it was not a fun time period to live in 🫤
Well thank God those impressive ruins are stabilized so they don't deteriorate further. Why are those lead coffins off the racks? Some disrepectful SOB's pulled them off, probably trying to break them open and rob what was in them. Disgraceful. Supposedly there's an old saying that if you vandalize a gravesite your own soul will be anchored there until the end of the world as punishment. I wouldn't want to find out if it's true!

You should take a shillelagh I carve them and carry one as a walking aid can be pressed into a defence tool Francis mc caffrey crafts on TH-cam sells them highly recommend 🇬🇧👍🐾🦊🇮🇹
Wow wonderful but sad that people vandalized those graves from DFW area Texas USA
It's a awful thing for anyone to do that, really horrible humans
I would of loved to go to that school, I'd rather kiss the knights feet than stand in the corner
Me too Hazel lol
Get better soon sue liked the video
Thanks Shelby
Sorry I’m late 😩 watching
Thanks Linda, we missed you x

Thanks Hans ❤️
Liked on the way in👍👍👍👍
Thank you x
I was jokingly thinking about you tell the guy you are filming a video and turn the thing off lol
He was loud but I suppose at least the grounds are cared for
@@SerenitySueGraveyards right i agree with taking care of it and it looks beautiful ❤
It's stunning for sure
better yet, tell the groundskeeper shhhh 😂
@@johnnyprice7120 lol
Could a flood have moved the coffins?
Maybe Tim
The thick walls
Hey Nancy they sure are x x
Oh no !! I stopped cause I was talking too much but of course I had to come back. 😂. The open crypt, so sad if that was vandalism although I don’t know how they got in ? But wow 😮 I almost wanted to put the skull back with the rest
Yes it's strange, it said online it was locked up after it was disturbed so I presume vandalised, how sad
@@SerenitySueGraveyards oh wow how sad. You know looking at the remains or a peek maybe even walking up is one thing but I don’t think I could touch someone’s remains let lone like be digging in there and such. Not just horribly disrespectful but pretty creepy to be hands on geesh
Greed is awful thing wish they would put body's back on shelf in their coffins
It's a shame to see it like this
That knight is stunning - he is in amazing condition! I’m currently reading a novel that takes place in the 1300’s - it was not a fun time period to live in 🫤
Thanks Cathy, it's brilliant that they have covered him to protect him
I'd probably never make it up the stairs being a large person lol
I'm not small myself, lol
So Nice too se. I
Thanks Eva
Well thank God those impressive ruins are stabilized so they don't deteriorate further.
Why are those lead coffins off the racks? Some disrepectful SOB's pulled them off, probably trying to break them open and rob what was in them. Disgraceful.
Supposedly there's an old saying that if you vandalize a gravesite your own soul will be anchored there until the end of the world as punishment. I wouldn't want to find out if it's true!
Yes Wayne I did see online they were vandalised how sick can someone be, I hope that saying is true because that's exactly what they deserve
Well sue another banging cemetery and that statue is banging stay safe ok
Cheers Mandy, mind yourself x
