Took the Durango & Silverton ride with my kids way back in the 1990's. Was an excellent day. A memory for life, fun just watching this video as it does bring back those memories. When we took that train, the crew had to stop and work with a bunch of cows that decided to wander down the tracks...added a little more fun to an already great day.
I dont care whether its shortlines like this or the Union Pacific 844, you're content is some of the best around. Top notch quality for sure. Highball!
Very nice video. I mad my first visit last June. Thought the Chama wye area would be good. It is. But the trains appears to be westbound to me, not eastbound.
Your camera placement and camera shots are flawless. I may buy some imitation coal smoke, (cologne maybe) rub some coal cinders in my eyes, and re-watch your videos :) I'm grateful to live in an area that has several active steam trains. If my wife would buy into it, I would spend all summer in Durango and Alamosa and just ride steam trains and breath coal smoke, but your videos are the next best thing! Thanks

It’s the best train ride in the United States 🇺🇸 #1.
It’s been on my bucket list for years😊🚂
C&TSRR's #489 - my #1 favorite K-36 Mikado steam locomotive in that railroad's fleet. #489 truly ROCKS!!!
