Hello people, and thanks for checking out my new video; what did you think? The long gap between this release and the Spires video was not ideal, but thankfully the next 2 videos are already in production! I'll let you all speculate as to what they are for now... (Patrons will be the first to find out)
Great tips! Which to add you don't need to make your model look like anyone elses like a few painters on this platform lovfe to over weather things to the point of making thair perfectly normal tank look like a rust bucket... Others smooth bland to the point of pillow shading and I just like to make the model be color accurate and save the shading to my light sources... So yeah anyone has a different idea of what makes a good looking model and as long as you are happy with it is all that matters.
Hey man, greetings from the CFM community. I wanted to point out, even though its 6mos late, that due to screen settings and printing techniques that sometimes the color theory resources can be slightly off. I prefer printed resources because the publisher can adjust the prints to be more accurate than digital resources.
I'd lean towards thinning less rather than over-thinning, you could try using a medium like airbrush thinner or glaze medium. Part of it is practicing brush control as well
@@MMMayhem haven't tried mediums yet so far. I just sometimes feel like ratios are hard to estimate. Each bottle seems to need diff ratios. One will be to thin. The other will still leave globs or barely run off the brush
yeah different brands of paint have different consistencies; I don't have a set ratio that I go with very time, I just go by the 'feel' that I've gotten used to with plenty of practice
It's a fun topic. Another good exercise for color picking I recently explored myself is the limited palette, ie picking 2-3 colors along with a white and black for value. If nothing else, I'd say I gained from it a better appreciation for value and saturation.
Hey, just occurred to me, but have you ever decided to do some junk or scrap building to help further customize your projects (kitbashed or otherwise)? If ya have I love to see your take and thought process on how to tackle all that
I have definitely considered that, mostly for tabletop terrain; I've had it on my long list of cool ideas document for a while, the problem is there's a lot of cool stuff on there to pick from!
@@MMMayhem ah, fair enough. Although, usually when I struggle with a list of cool ideas I usually just try to combine two or more of them that seem like they might fit together in order to get them checked off my list. Although that might not work for everyone, it usually is worth a try every now and then. Since what better way to learn how to do something unless you try and experience it first hand
@@MMMayhem I actually discovered lbx because it somehow just aired 2 seasons on Nickelodeon, years later I become a Amazon kit explorer and find out that their were model kits (I didn’t do any labor to earn money so I never bought any, and I regret that so bad)
those skorne titans have so many gaps. warmahordes made me absolutely hate metal minis with lots of parts. remember nyss hunters? or what i like to call blobs of super glue.
@@MMMayhem drilling and using brass rod for the pikes on my iron fangs was also an event i'd rather not remember. none of them are going the right direction compared to their hand.
@@MMMayhem Im certain tetrachromia is more common than reported... but it's just like an extra color processing cone thinger in your eye. It's like the difference between hot pink and neon pink when other qualia aren't considered.

Wake up babe, new Millennial Model Mayhem just dropped.

that baroque freehand is STILL some of the best ive seen!
Glad you like it so much!
dollar-store glitter is peak color theory
These are the facts
Nice books, NERD! Like that detailing on the melted nacho cheese sword cavalry btw
lmao, nooooo it's a flaming sword!!!! (more like flamin' hot cheetos flavour)
I'm gonna need to see a gunpla painted with the pattern of your shirt, pronto.
wow, my back and wrist hurt just thinking about that lmao, would look pretty slick though!

Well said!
Looks great. I'm a fan of the LBX designs, the proportions hit just right. The LBX Nightmare is my favorite.
Thanks! LBX is underrated IMO
Thanks for reminding to build the Nightmare I have in my backlog lol
those are some fancy new riffs
Glad YoUwU noticed

It's so satisfying to see ur paint go on so smoothly. I can never get it like that XD. Its either to watery/thin. Or too dry en doesn't flow nicely

yeah good point! Having constrainst like that can be a really great approach
Omg new upload!
Yoooo! Traditional upload! Nice!
It feels great to finally get this one out!
Nice paint job. I need to hand paint some more SD Hero kits. It's been a year.
Thanks! SDs are usually pretty chill to hand paint

I wish I was older around when the lbx was relevant (including its anime and games)
I feel you. Wish I knew about LBX when the models were easier to get
@@MMMayhem I actually discovered lbx because it somehow just aired 2 seasons on Nickelodeon, years later I become a Amazon kit explorer and find out that their were model kits (I didn’t do any labor to earn money so I never bought any, and I regret that so bad)
Dang, pretty sure we had to put in a special order to get this one, got lucky with a small online store for some of other kits

lmao, I guess I built so many of them after 3 factions that I got desensitized to it. I did my time with those nyss hunter oh lord...

New MMM video? Better share this with the boys in chat.
much obliged, thanks!
Yessssssss new vid dropped
finally! lol
Yeeeeee LBX
yeeeeee
yo man been wondering if gunpla battle become a real life game which of your model would you use to compete with?
hmm probably my custom MG Barbatos
I wonder how well Gunpla would work with the Mobile Frame Zero ruleset
I've only casually read MF0, but I think you could probably make it work!
I'm cursed with tetrachromat eyeballs...😢😢😢
I'm interested in hearing what your experience with painting/color is like; it's so hard to imagine what other people perceive things like...
@@MMMayhem Im certain tetrachromia is more common than reported... but it's just like an extra color processing cone thinger in your eye. It's like the difference between hot pink and neon pink when other qualia aren't considered.
that's pretty neat in terms of how our different eyes work
I wish I knew more about color theory. So I could better explain myself instead of ooo pretty.
Yooooooooooooooooo
wasssssuppppppp
Alien mecanicum mobilesuide 😮
it is a bit alien-like
