- I literally thought greggreg made this song at first, HOLY S**T does it sound good though, idk if this mod is like a joke at sonic.exe mods or smth, but even if it is just it's own mod, THIS S**T BUSSIN', like the art and everything about this mod is just so f**king good man, amazing way to (almost) end January!

Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io. The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes? Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. I like how instead of the mod trying to be "scary," instead, it makes it more cartoony and silly rather than like the other sonic.exe mods

@@eex50162011x is a huge fan of Sonic and it known that he is, lord X is just a further 2011x and xeno has always been a huge fan of Sonic (I’m naming the canon exes but you get the gist) 2017x isn’t a fan of Sonic he actually thinks he’s Sonic
@@Supers_channel IIRC, Xen isn't that much of a Sonic fan, he just uses Adventure 2 as a way of easily obtaining new victims. (I assume you meant him rather than the FNF Xeno, since you mentioned canon stuff.) Also, while 2011X/Lord X is definitely obsessed with Sonic to an extent, his fanaticism seems noticably toned down compared to previous iterations of the character.
What I really like is how he just stands there and twiddles his fingers like a cartoon character it fits so well

Okay but can we talk about how BRILLIANT GF's design is in the background?
From the smooth as hell animation of her head turning and facial expression changing depending on whose singing, to the fact that she raises her tail everytime it's BF's turn and the tail reveals a cute little heart symbol on it?
Absolute peak, such a small detail but it gives a lot of character to a mod that's already OOZING with it from top to bottom
I love that someone noticed that, I also really love these small details, it's really cool having stuff like this in mods, just makes them so much more alive!

For those who dont know MC-X stands for Mystcrimson X, hes the sonic.exe from the og game (the one Markiplier played) he Mystcrimson is the guy that made the game, he differs from the og creepypasta version of X and 2011x (current canon) mainly because the game had many inconsistencies (red shoes, marble zone being the eggman level, etc)

i didn't know that i thought MC-X Was just their take on the character
I literally thought that they mispelled MJ (Michael Jackson) and the X was like Lord X😭
It's like the sonic cd secret screen with MC Sonic, thats what i was referencing
I'd rather just call him Sonic.EXE as he always was called, nobody ever called him MC-X.
I LOVE this mod.
I like the fact that X just embraced the absurdity of his appearance by being cartoonish, as well as the souls actually looking like souls instead of who they once were but with black eyes. The art is pretty damn good too.
But if I had to change anything, at 2:29 I’d put MC-X in the title screen, make the SONIC text read out the chorus’s vocals, and make make the subtitle read out X’s vocals.
Other than that, P E R F E C T .
The detail of the heart shape of her tail is sooooo cute~ ( the fact this happens only when she is looking to BF is adorable )
I love the thriller outfit in the second part, this feels like something youd see in a "scary sonic" type of situation

Finally, an "Original/My5tcrimson Sonic.EXE" thingy in the modern day that _doesn't_ feel the need to warp the character's design or personality beyond recognition, while still claiming they're totally the true real first original guy!
Complaining about new stuff not being old stuff like an old man aside, *I love this mod!!* It doesn't try to take itself overly seriously, but it doesn't reduce EXE to an annoying ironic joke either. The art for X reminds me heavily of old Sonic.EXE fan art, and the lyrics are both well written and fully in-character for X! I especially love the title screen recreation. I swear I've seen something like that while looking through pre-fnf deviantart uploads.

@@sebastiangomezserrano4706 I know they're not considered the same nowadays, that's why I added the "/". However, My5tcrimson's fan game was originally intended as a recreation of the game from the original creepypasta, using whatever assets they had access to. (examples; that janky sonic spritesheet, the fan art of the "I AM GOD" screen) It was only afterwards that they decided their iteration of Sonic.EXE was something completely separate.

Im always wondering what are the used sample all matched together but separately because they all work so well together to give an Michael Jackson appel to the song as an rnb genre type song i like to think the base sample taken is back streets back by backstreet boys its like the inst of that song but saturated and put together same with mxc's voice its really neat to think about to me

I wasn't expecting much out of this mod but I downloaded it nonetheless due to the recent absence in FNF mods lately. Holy SHIT, I was not expecting this gem of a song. It's not reinventing the genre or anything but the vocals and visuals all come together make an extremely enjoyable experience. I also like their take on X, making him a more playful and childish variant of himself rather than the bloodlusted god we know today.
May I add that I'm glad they changed BF's vocals instead of keeping the beep boop things. The long drawn out electric sounding vocals really elevate the song which would otherwise just be another boring FNF mod with the same vocals. One extra cookie for the Michael Jackson outfit in the finale.
