  • The 19th Peterhead Scottish Week was the first chaired by William A. MacDonald. Famous faces, George Barron and Jim McColl from the BBC's Beechgrove Garden did the honours of crowning the new 'Buchan Queen', Aileen Forsyth. The Buchan Princesses for 1980 were Lorraine Brand and Ruthann Davidson.
The first Grand Pram Race first featured in 1980 as well as many favourites; Sandcastle Competition, Baby Show, Dog Show and Carnival Parade.
The Highland Games and Tartan Ball were no more - instead a Gala Day took place at the Lord Catto Playing Fields.
This video was produced by Radio Rentals, and converted to DVD from VHS by DigitalConverters.co.uk - the entire video lasts appoximately 1 hour, but this particular section covers the Crowning Ceremony and the beginning of the Pram Race.
