It was a real treat to hear him speak; I could listen for hours! I feel like he reassured me in so many ways, yet made me very VERY concerned about my monitoring situation... mans is rockin $20k speakers and still doesn't trust them as much as his $1k headphones FAKK
I bought the LCD-X headphones last year. They do sound amazing. I use them for checking my mixes. After reading the comments I would say dont buy super expensive headphones unless you NEED them, but that goes for all gear. I ended up in a poorly treated room with reflection problems again and decided it was time to get a really great pair of headphones. They work great for me. The first time I listened to music though them I almost cried. It sounded like music sounded as a child when I suppose I had more perfect hearing. There is a depth that reminded me of sonic purity. Not bad and to me even though I dont have a ton of extra money they are worth the buy.
And I am the musician bedroom guy with a cheap pair of KRK rokit speakers, headphones and a MacBook pro mid 2012 😝. But for me the process of writing songs, recording and mixing, is like being in heaven. And according to others, the production sounds good. At least good enough for TH-cam😁
Very lovely studio you have there, love it...Headphones for me is the best tool for final check and finalizing what i have mixed and mastered...however, i can not use headphone for long hours, that will hurt my ears

I could not live and work without my headphones. Not sure about the LCD-X as I find them not flat enough and high frequency lacking, but no matter a good headphones like R70X, 620 Pro or HD600 or 650 are a great example of affordable enough and great sounding in the same time. I believe that a good open back headphones and a good chair is the first on the list for anyone who wants to do this kind of work.

Great video Marc, did you know Weinmaraner dogs love headphones to? Mine could listen at very low level to music with a interesting look in his 👀 Keep up the good information. I mix on a pair of HD650’s with correction software. It help a lot for the low end, like it wasn’t there before!
Lovely dog trying to steal the show. I can usually pay attention to uploads unless a dog shows up, then all my attention gets diverted. I am easily distracted by dogs.
my current producer has these headphones and I can tell you, unless your brain is incapable of understanding the law of diminishing returns, the LCD-X's are well worth the money. Investing in proper gear is very important. There's a difference between an "overpriced piece of gear" and a "lifelong investment". If you're serious, you're serious.
To Asher; about being SERIOUS with your music. This is SERIOUS family household money I don't have for a headphone, like many SERIOUS homerecordist who is watching this video, ..eh,advertisement ;)
what its like to get old and realise what you thought as a kid was stupid even senseless. Wanting everything within arms reach, yeah bone idle laziness, guilty gov, even a smaller room where everything feels closer can make everything feel more involved part of not just there somewhere. But £1600 headphones, ah well yes, if they earn you the money fine else, ask for a set to sponsor in a video ! Otherwise, forget it !!

I have a Audio Technica R70X... and a I like it... not so expensive as the LCD-X but for me it's enough at this time.
