@@lalune59 - I had to fix the long chain on our blinds. I didn't want to spend money on a new one. But you don't need this tool to do this, as you can improvise the same method with other tools, it just takes longer.
There are TH-cam vids on how to do it with basic tools or your fingers. U̶̲̥̅̊ just need to twist to take out. widen the hole pop the other end in. clamp it BOOM

Hmm the chain tool is about £92 its a bit pricey to be honest. Not worth purchasing to make just one repair. If you are doing this all the time then ok its worth it. I hate to think I need to order a whole new chain as its much cheaper. I did attempt a repair using pliers which was partially successful but it split again later. Might just have e few more goes.

I did same and it worked .. maybe I smashed the ball little bit but it was good and strong
