Don't mind hearing this twice in a row. : ) Surprised you had missed it before, there's even a music video for this one. I don't see 'Freezer', 'Matchless Gum', 'Cross', 'Spirit' or 'Anemone' in your past BAND-MAID reactions. All great songs.
Absolutely my favorite of the older Band Maid Bangers! That root riff is so raw and aggressive, then at the break, MISA’s bass just rumbles! My favorite thing about Band Maid’s official videos and recordings is that guitar in the left ear is Miku, guitar in the right is Kanami. That way every time you hear something interesting, you know who’s doin it! And how they mesh together is JUST FOOKIN’ AMEZIN’!!💪🏻🤘🏻
Miku is incredibly great here, isn't she? Her guitar skills are real by now. During the recent European tour, they almost have had that Miku/Kanami guitar battle everybody was asking for.
You see mate that's the thing. About 80% of their music is top three worthy. And the other tunes are better than good. Tough decision. Can't wait to see them in LA on September 30th.
A lot of B-M fans will swear by the MV for this song because they feel the mix is better. The MV is really cool and worth multiple viewings, but, for my money, this is my fav version. Non Fiction Days was the closer for this concert and I think the ladies had it in mind to leave a lasting impression! To me it sounds heavier, more distorted and it is being played faster with a sense of urgency. Saiki's voice is starting to get a little rough towards the end after around a 2 hour set, and to be honest I love to hear her voice a little on the raspy side, she always seems to be able to maintain a pleasantly gritty note instead of going off key. I love it. And Akane,,,Well she is just a fucking BEAST throughout. It has been in my top 10 B-M songs since I first heard it and I suspect it will stay there.
Near the beginning and again at the end, that chucking sound on guitar is Miku, because I can still hear Kanami in my right ear. She also leads the fill back into the main riff after the solo. She is getting pretty good on guitar considering that she couldn't play yet on Thrill.
@Michael Harlan That Kanami/teacher and Miku/student combination is really something. There was part of an interview I read the other day where Miku said that once she got her first Zemaitis guitar, she felt she really needed to become worthy of it.
On the just-concluded European leg of the "gekidou" tour, they even added a small Miku solo guitar part to the intro of Play. She really has progressed a lot from the original plan of only being the lead singer. The rest of the band are virtuosos, so it must be a bit intimidating for her, but she's gone from zero guitar experience to playing this well in just 4-5 years. Not just anyone can do that.
NFD has always been one of my top 5. They have so many amazing songs that its so hard to choose. Play, Domination, Alone, Screamin, Bye My Tears (oldie but goodie, trust me), So, What?, Moratorium... the list goes on and on....
This was the last song of the day at Shinkiba COAST. You will hear Saiki shouting "Last Song". And as usual, they are giving it all. The whole performance is blistering. Just listen to Akane's drumming. Band Maid rulezzzz!
They are actually getting better by the end of the show. Shy girls going wild. I think they just look at the audience, and then, if the fans are supportive, they relax, open up, and start to deliver goods.
This is my favorite Band Maid song. Unfortunately, a little saddened, they didn't write it themselves in those days, but the author is a solid and rocky composer, I think.
And you know, it exists somewhere. All those five or eight cameras were recording the footage from their respective viewpoints, and then the engineer has finally chosen which view to switch to. But I hope all the original tracks were actually preserved, and one day their owner may decide to make a different mix. Also, the whole disc was only one hour, while the concert lasted for 2+ hours. The rest, again, is just stored somewhere, for the future generations to discover.
Not sure why this is not more popular as this is why it ended number 22 reaction compared to some others. ..real rockin n Rollin and certainly one of there best.
The first Band-Maid song I ever heard. I thought, Japanese girls in maid costumes trying to play rock, this could be OK for a laugh... They are not only the best band I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, they have taught me a good lesson in humility. Go Band-Maid!
Thanks for reacting, this one is Band Maid unleashed, last song of a twenty five song set and looking to end on a high which it definitely does. Love Miku's guitar tone in this, that's a lot of crunch for a small Pigeon Po!!! Next Song Suggestion Matchless Gum (live from the same show) th-cam.com/video/o6gg1wmsNqA/w-d-xo.html
LOL - every video you review you say, "this is it, this is the one, this jumped up to the top". You're going to have to listen to all the songs non-stop rotation for a couple of weeks, then decide :D
I would say, couple of weeks is a bit short timespan. Couple of months, maybe. And then he'll say, "Fuck ya all, here's the top 25 BAND-MAID songs! Out of 74 I covered so far!" 😂
The Non-Fiction Days is the first song off their EP/Album, Brand New Maid (their third), but it is the first album where all of the songs are written by the Maids. It is a kickass record, and establishes them as the best prog hard rock band on the planet. Each album after Brand New Maid simply reinforces this basic fact.
Finally I can stop "spamming" this suggestion and you check it out, knew you'd love it :D Now I actually have to look up what Band-Maid songs you've done so far to get my future suggestions together... in the meantime maybe I can get some backup by other viewers here so you'll check out the band Girugamesh, also one of my top favorite Japanese bands ;) Their song "Drain" would be a nice start!
I remember how you did Clang first, see what they have added to it th-cam.com/video/IeYSfCcV13o/w-d-xo.html from 4:10 and unfortunately you have already done Freedom cos Akane now has a drum solo in it th-cam.com/video/EYXWc_q6w4I/w-d-xo.html from 1:52
While it’s a really good song, for whatever reason the studio version doesn’t do it justice. It takes a few listens to really appreciate how good it is. It just doesn’t have the energy like this live version.
This is one of my favorites of all the Band-Maid songs. I do like this version over the studio version because of the energy, but it’s still a great song regardless. It’s not on a lot of people’s list of favorites unfortunately so it isn’t requested right away, but hopefully it gets more popular as more people listen to it. It’s definitely an underrated song.
Song called AWKWARD - perfection in a song. I swear. Oh, and give a chance to another excellent and highly talented all-female Japanese rock band called DOLL$BOXX th-cam.com/video/FVfRwBeCnE0/w-d-xo.html ("Shout Down")
Domination, is another of what would probably be regarded as their "bigger" numbers, and there's a good live version of that available, (th-cam.com/video/scFipkQQPRM/w-d-xo.html) from the same gig as this one, I think If you feel brave enough to try the official videos, Glory and Bubble are both good (recent fan-can videos of both are reasonable, but are still probably not the best introductions to the songs) while "Gion-Cho" was this year's Band-Maiko release - a completely new song rather than a version of an existing song.
try their song Bubble..the music video, its pretty slick nod to Queen... you might also like this trio of old school Japanese Rockers called Ningen Isu... they kick some major ass... th-cam.com/video/CbI79e5iZKs/w-d-xo.html
a REAL EXISTENCE consists of NON-FICTION DAYS ... just saying ;) I find 99% of rock music boring, but BAND-MAID is phenomenal!! I have been all around Europe to catch many of their concerts! (last time was a month ago in Hamburg). The only band I love more than them and been to more concerts of is BABYMETAL \m/
I absolutely love this one, holy shit, BAND-MAID does not disappoint as always! SUBSCRIBE BITCH!!!

Thx, great song, great reaction. One of the best Band-Maid songs, no doubt. Next: Before Yesterday.
@Esa Koivuniemi Great suggestion.
That's my favorite of their "softer" songs.
That line "You used to make me smile." kills me every time.
Thanks ECR for anther great r/v and for showcasing these wicked maidens rock!
Love when Miku jumps off the drum stage at the end.

@@SLKRR Not to mention she is often singing at the same time. If you play guitar you know how hard that can be.
But that TONE she gets from that Zemaitis ... it's dirty AF!

Akane is ALWAYS smiling and grinning when drumming. she is having so much fun. They all are but she is soo obviously loving her drumming.
I'm waitin to hear I Can't Live Without You. See you in LA 9-30.
Evilcorkin. One of the original double bangers for the Maids!
check out Matchless gum live
This is my favorite Band Maid song. Unfortunately, a little saddened, they didn't write it themselves in those days, but the author is a solid and rocky composer, I think.
love this LIVE version WOW
First track from the CD Brand New Maid, not written by them but still an excellent song. Still several songs for you yet to discover :-)
such a killer song to have as the closer.. such a blast watching Akane on this one. i really wish we had uncut footage of that camera
And you know, it exists somewhere. All those five or eight cameras were recording the footage from their respective viewpoints, and then the engineer has finally chosen which view to switch to. Thankyou soooo much always, for supporting Band-Maid!!! Awesome reaction as usual, from Tokyo!!!
Damn how it starts ... how ... F ***** g ends ... it's like a heavy tank that crushes and destroys everything it can find on its way ...
Another classic! Fuckin intense!!
My only regret is missing them live in London last week😠.
Not sure why this is not more popular as this is why it ended number 22 reaction compared to some others. ..real rockin n Rollin and certainly one of there best.
Thanks for loving BAND-MAID songs. We need oversea's fans of them.
Your facemask melted 😁🤘
Yep, that was incredible. Love the vocal arrangement on this one.
When I play my Band Maid playlist on repeat and listen, so do the neighbors! :D
The first Band-Maid song I ever heard. I thought, Japanese girls in maid costumes trying to play rock, this could be OK for a laugh... They are not only the best band I have ever had the pleasure of listening to, they have taught me a good lesson in humility. Go Band-Maid!
They are beautiful musical assassins! I don't think you have done Glory, Bubble, Domination or You (I Can't Live Without You) Live
