But its marngrook is particular that im talking about from the tribes that made up the area that would become Melbourne no less as well with the earliest case of settlers documenting it in 1841 and no way to know as of now just how long the tribes had played this game
the others mentioned are also ball games involving kicking and catching and in particular their style accounts for what could have influenced how the ball is put into play in AFL
there's also a huge plethora of stick and ball games tribes from different parts played some kind of like field hockey some a little like baseball but not really
Yeah anyone sort of read up on the history of this stuff particularly marngrook and the areas it was commonly played and the rules of the game its easy to tell AFL was extremely inspired along with gaelic football and sheffield rules football
