Simple and basic intro to hanging paper. I find that applying the paste with a thin roller provides more uniform coverage and leaves you with more open time to position each hange. One added tip, after making your cut be sure to keep the hard edge in place while pulling the trimmed strip. Otherwise you may have a surprise tear if the cut is not complete and clean. Wet paper tends to tug more.
Legend has it she’s still papering this room til this day
Eastender 😂😂
easy to follow, all i'd say is make sure you've kept a 5mm or 1/4" wrap around in the corner, that way the last length will go on that wrapped around lngth, then trim into the corner with the last piece. I may be easier to mark with a pencil and trim it with your shears... that way you don't risk cutting into both papers in the angle with your sharp blade.
If you look closely where the bottom is cut, you can see it doesn't meet the skirting board - you WILL notice this. The way to do it and make it much neater is to create a crease with the scissors handle (or other blunt instrument), and then use the scissors to cut the paper an extra mm or two under the crease. When you smooth it into place, it meets the skirting board perfectly. Do this at the top too and you'll find it's much more rewarding finish.
Hi ive been hanging wallpaper over 30years if any of you good people need advise im more than happy to answer any questions.
How far around an outside corner should u wrap commercial vinyl before cutting
I would bring it around the corner maybe 8 to 10 inches as you have to allow 2to3 inches for your overlap to splice through both papers.
I am just beginning and I know that it is going to be fun
Shouldn’t she have first figured out the large pattern repeat so all strips match ?
Hi Gérard do you always hang the first strip of wallpaper like this for example if the wallpaper is 53cm width do you trim it in the corner to 52cm.
Great, but presumably this 'pasting the wall' method doesn't apply to all papers?
Gerard O Neill. If you good people need advise on paperhanging im more than happy to help.
Great job and pasting wall is better but not all paper's like this and corner's are a nightmare
Never start at a corner
This is wrong. She should use a plum bob also starting in the middle is preferable with the drop being the best bit of the pattern. If she dosent have to cut at that exyernal angle too lol
