- Today we'll be looking at this Gevi 20 espresso machine and find out if this De'longhi Dedica knockoff can deliver for around 150$. Its definately a nice looking machine, including a questionable pressure gauge with no actual values. The 20 bar, is more marketing, Im praying the machine cannot produce 20 bar.
After the unpacking and cleaning event we get under way with testing.

You are exceptionally wonderful as a reviewer. The best I've ever experienced. ❤
Thank you!
I bought the Gevi because of your video. Now having a few weeks of being a home barista under my belt I can confidently say that this was the best $120 I’ve ever spent. Does it have all the features and gadgets as a Breville? No. Will it impress coffee snobs? No. But have I saved money? Yes. Are the drinks delicious? Absolutely yes.
I make cappuccinos/lattes for my wife and myself every morning, and that tip you had about letting the boiler cool down AFTER using the steamer by blowing off the steam was a huge time saver. I continue to reference this video time and time again, so I just wanted to say thank you!
Glad it helped. I have another video coming g out shortly where I have further refined this machine to kick up the overall quality.
maaaaan, i’ve had this machine for over a year now and you nailed every single problem with this coffee machine. honestly, i don’t recommend this machine, coffee is not very good to be honest. killer review to you my guy.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Considering the machine cost as much as 4 starbucks latte's. Its pretty good.
I was very confused on how to get the water for an Americano, and you explained it at the 6:34 mark, which the directions really didn't do. Thank you.
You're welcome. Soon another video with further improvements will be coming out.
the reason the pressure is ramping up even without coffee in the basket is the use of a pressurized basket: this is what its built for, building pressure whatever the grind size is and restrict the water flow to not get too fast of a shot (underextracted)
If you use a simple filter you wont have any pressure without coffee
You werent paying attention.... and explaining what was already stated. What you missed was the indicator gauue showing high pressure without coffee, making it pointless.
its not pointless if you have your own grinder and grind it too fine you'll see the gauge going too high or if you put a simple basket and trying to dial it in perfectly.
Run the machine without a portafilter and you'll see that the pressure doesn't go up at all. The gauge isn't pointless. You're just misunderstanding how a pressurized portafilter basket works. Pressurized baskets will give you that pressure regardless of whether coffee is present or not. They're designed to give you fool proof espresso no matter what.
Great review!
Thank you!
Love the detailed information on your video. Can you also review the casabrews 20 bar espresso machine?
I only review what I purchase. Sorry.
We have this machine and enjoy it for the price point, however we keep having issues with the portafilter baskets getting clogged. We clean them after every use and have tried using the tool that comes with it to poke out any stuck grounds. Any other advice??
