Hi Dave, you can do it much easier, when using a Contour Flange. With this you can define a simple Sketch with one line and a constraint at the endpoint (Point on Curve - the Plane). Hi Michael, good catch! Of course there's so many ways to create in NX. Using flange gives more control over inset type and no reliance on sketch. thanks. I will not be in Costa Mesa unfortunately.
I used NX2306 however this technique will work in all versions that have the new measure capability of 'Minimum Projected Contact'. In earlier versions you would have to create a projected curve.
