Ring of Honor (ROH) is a professional wrestling promotion recently acquired by Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, Chief Football Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and GM/Sporting Director of Fulham F.C. The acquisition, which was completed through an entity that is wholly-owned by Tony Khan, included ROH’s extensive video library dating back to 2002, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment and more.
With more than 20 years of rich wrestling history, ROH has launched the careers of numerous AEW stars, including CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Hangman Page, Dr. Britt Baker, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, among others. Additional members of the AEW roster have made their mark in ROH, including the late Brodie Lee, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Scorpio Sky, ReDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly), Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta), Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydal, Mercedes Martinez, Serena Deeb, Frankie Kazarian, Keith Lee, Eddie Kingston, Evil Uno, QT Marshall, Danhausen, Lance Archer, Griff Garrison, Thunder Rosa, Wheeler Yuta, Luchasaurus, Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page, Austin Gunn, PAC, Kip Sabian, John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Jerry Lynn, BJ Whitmer, Ace Steel and Sonjay Dutt.
ROH’s current list of champions includes ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe, ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez. Every generation produces top people to carry on the industry. Guys like Page and Ibushi are the future of wrestling. It is in very good hands. These two are sensational!

I love ROH. No fake crowd noise, awesome matches, great buildup to the matches, no can they co-exist matches. ROH is real wrestling. HONOR IS REAL. I hope that they come back better.

@Jaime A. Hehe, I'd bet you a lot of money that he doesn't! Kenny sees himself as first and foremost a storyteller. He will gladly sell like a martyr for the new guys, but he's not going to tarnish a 13-year-storyline for a push.

This is why I love the sport of wrestling the way I do. The way they put their heart out there on the line every time oh, it really makes you want to be a part of them where you know you don't want to. This is real pro wrestling at it's best
I miss the days when top indie wrestlers showed off the competitive product of the WWE empire. The merger of ROH and NJPW brought them huge success in their time. I think AEW should consider partnering with one of these two promotions, because it can bring tremendous success in the competition against WWE.
AEW are now working with Impact.
I think AEW would kill for a partnership with NJPW lol, it's all about whether or not NJPW have gotten over the way The Elite all dipped out on them at once lol.
AEW is flirting with NJPW for months now, but NooJ is playing hard to get

Isn't the IWGP U.S. championship a New Japan title? And hasn't the title been defended against mostly New Japan competition for over a year?

This is one of my favourite matches ever. I think that these are both men high up in the pantheon of pro wrestling and I hope that one day they can work something to this standard again. Kota Ibushi, Hangman Page... PRO WRESTLING FOREVER
RoH & NJPW have showcased some of the most iconic, amazing, exciting, and talented wrestlers to ever lace up the boots! Okada, Ibushi, and other NJPW stars are phenomenal wrestlers! Guys like Hangman Page, Bryan Danielson, and so many more incredibly talented wrestlers who came through RoH, and some also went through NJPW as well. Seeing NJPW compete with RoH was awesome back in the day. Since ANY TYPE of "collaboration" was OFF LIMITS for the bigger Federations. But even for any individual wrestlers going to NJPW was a big NO-NO! The amount of hype that could have been made with this was a huge mistake, but THANKFULLY for FANS of PRO-WRESTLING, not enterlamement, it wasn't the wwe who was smart enough to collaborate with NJPW! Now we thankfully have RoH in the hands of a company who APPRECIATES what HONOR STANDS FOR! Who knows and cares what RoH WAS and IS all about! Now RoH alongside of AEW can make those massive successful collaboration events with NJPW. The FUTURE for wrestling fans who love and appreciate the NJPW style, their honor, and their knowledge of certain moves and submissions! Add that to AEW's insane high flying acrobatics and intensity? Then throw in some RoH as well? Your looking at a 100% pure absolute SUPER-CARD EVENT! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT! Especially the Rainmaker! Actually Okada, Ibushi and some other NJPW superstars have been involved in some unbelievable 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 star matches! Okada versus Omega, Ibushi vs. Omega, and some others. One commonality, EVERY MATCH 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ AND EVERY MATCH IS 100% WORTHY OF THEIR RATINGS!!

I do think Hangman will be the one to take the belt off of Kenny, but I think he tries and fails at least once first. AEW takes a lot of cues from NJPW in their booking and they know how valuable delayed gratification can be after seeing first-hand how important it was for Kenny to fail a few times against Okada before he finally beat him -- and how much bigger and more important that win ended up being because of how hard it was.

@@langolbamutum8794 If he stayed out and recovered for a year or more we could, but Ibushi is talking of coming back after only 3 months. He needs to stay out as long as Omega is, then team up with him and Hangman against The Elite in a 3 on 3.
