THE WORLD'S MOST SCENIC DRIVE (Icefields Parkway Canada)

  • Canada’s Icefields Parkway is one of the most beautiful drives in the world. This stretch of road inside Jasper and Banff National Parks is some of the most scenic in the world with its jaw-dropping views of glaciers capping the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
    We were incredibly lucky to start the day with not one, but three moose! Moose can be the most difficult animal to spot in Jasper, and to see three right next to us was incredible.
    The Icefields Parkway has lookouts, hikes, and pull offs every few minutes. We stopped by a few highlights including Athabasca Falls, Goats and Glaciers Lookout, Sunwapta Falls and Lower Falls and finally the Athabasca Glacier in the Columbia Icefields. Be sure you don’t miss Bow Lake and Peyto Lake, as well as Banff’s famous Lake Louise!
    Driving the Icefields Parkway is a bucket list item for sure and with it’s breathtaking mountain views and safari-like animal spotting, you will have something to see and do with every mile.

    We finally saw a moose! Our final day in Canada 🇨🇦 was packed with so much wildlife and stunning nature on the Icefields Parkway. This is the most scenic drive we’ve ever done and we’re excited to share it with you! What other incredible drives do you recommend?

    I live 80 miles east of there 🇨🇦 I use it as a shortcut to avoid Calgary traffic on my way to Vancouver, which saves about an hour and a half!

    Fabulous views of the wildlife. The moose was awesome. The Icefields Parkway is a wonderful drive. We were lucky to follow this on a blue sky October day a few years ago. The look outs were amazing and your filming really captured the beauty of the route. The mountains as you pass the Athabasca Glacier were simply stunning. I loved your shots of the glacier itself. We continued south to Banff eventually running out of light after a full day. As for your recommendation of Lake Louise, I would agree. We walked this the following day. Magnificent. Thanks for sharing.

    thats a good drive for sure. We saw moose at Maliene Lake too, but what was eye opening we we had to sign a release for the Park Service so we could camp outside Jasper because it was elk rutting season.

    I wish I could get a copy of the brochure you were holding with the map and stops. We lived in BC Kamloops husband Mt Lolo radar station military but we never got to tour Banff Jasper or anything. Son now plans his wedding honeymoon out in the BC mountains. Does anyone have a link to that drive tourist map?

    We have traveled to New England (New Hampshire and Vermont) every year for the past 15 years for the change of seasons and looked for moose every year and have never seen one!!! You see multiple moose on your trip. Now I know where to go.

    • @KeepGoingPlaces

      All the Canadians we told about it were so surprised! Moose are the hardest to find and there they were! …we never did see a bear though… next time!

      Lisa did you visit Canada in the Fall ? We are going in the last week of September and early October to drive the Rockies and Icefield Parkway, We are unsure if we will see all the beautiful Fall colours in Canada at this time or if we should add on a side trip to New Hampshire or Vermont. We are travelling from Australia so it gets pretty expensive. Or maybe we should just see Canada in this trip and travel to Vermont on a separate trip ?
      Would appreciate anyones views on this :)

      @@kkdd6413 I have only crossed into Canada once during the fall. We entered through the border with New Hampshire just to see what was over there. There wasn’t much. I have a been to Whistler, Canada, which is in the west of Canada, recently but it was in the Spring. It is extremely lovely. Personally I think Canada warrants it’s own trip and I would go in either the spring or summer. Vermont and New Hampshire are just beautiful in the fall and would be my choice if you want to see the change in seasons. What ever you decide, have a wonderful time.

    I plan on doing this with my new mustang are the roads maintained or should I be worried about lots of rocks damaging my car? Thank you I live in Vancouver so I definitely plan on doing this!

    • @shirleybullick3022
      @shirleybullick3022 ปีที่แล้ว

      Albertan here, there are falling rocks on some parts but pretty safe overall. The Icefield Parkway isn't maintained very much in winter so pretty icy and would not recommend driving with a mustang in the winter.
