Klugman had the longest longevity than any of the other 12 Angry Men Juror actors. Klugman lived for 90 years.

Amazing film. Jack Klugman played an important juror, number 5, who uses his personal background to move the case forward. For example, as someone who grew up in the slums (much like the boy on trial), Number 5 explained the correct handling of a switchblade knife.

*FUN FACT:* Not only did Jack Klugman live the longest life of the twelve angry-juror clan, but he was also the last of the twelve member crew to pass away; Christmas Eve 2012.

Lot of NY actors in this great film. But it's not just the acting; the writing is superb, as the nature of each character emerges. And Jack Klugman is right - the two most emotional parts are portrayed superbly by Lee J. Cobb and Ed Begley. Fantastic! Lao Du

I've always thought that this film appears to be "undirected." That Sidney Lumet placed a few cameras in the jurors room, yelled "action!," and let the actors do the rest. Of course, this film was highly directed, which only amplifies the incredible talent of Sidney Lumet. My all-time favorite film.

Jack Klugman was a thespian with a penchant for acting. He also didn't sell-out his birth name, at the behest of greedy & deceitful 'Hollywood' Moguls or studios. This proved that it IS possible to "make it" in show business, without disrespecting one's family name & heritage.

"You couldn't get a cast like that together in a movie today." You could, if you spent a billion dollars on their salaries for the film. $900 a week? Today that would be around $9,000 but what actor today of the caliber of that entire cast would take any job for $9k a week for 2 months. There are some but not many.

I loved this play when I first introduced to it in junior high! I especially like the black and white movie because it is an all white cast and to me, that makes the impact of the social implications even more impactful. I hate black and white movies but this, to kill a mockingbird and on the waterfront, just superb!

Klugman is great in this, but in reality he was miscast. His character grew up in an urban slum, he's unemployed (reading the want ads) and had a rough life. The role should have gone to someone like Sal Mineo. But again, Klugman is so good he makes it work.
