I'm sure it must have already been pointed out but it should be obvious that at one point an Italian person (who may or may not also be a plumber) was working on the translation. Therefore the sign for Nami would have made perfect sense ... Is a Nami's house!
Remember that in Okami, Ammy and Issun also went to this time period, so it's entirely possible that Issun hid part of his master piece behind the wall. The real question is why he hid it in the first place. Maybe he wanted to see if his master piece stood the test of time, who knows.
I'm a bit curious what Kurow meant when he said first Okami. Did he just mean that all wolves came into existence because of Shiranui or did he mean wolf god? I'm just wondering since if he just meant wolf then why did they leave the Japanese and capitalize it?
+C10pokefan that was actually what I first thought ookami meant. Yep, I just looked it up and ookami means both wolf and god. The kanji are different, though.
Were finally at the part where the story starts to get truly moving. I love the music of Kamiki Village 100 years ago. Its so somber and I love somber music.
That's actually a good point there, sir. Although it kinda shocked me when I heard it. I mean, come on! A Sonic fan character's name in an Okami series game? Whoa, didn't see that coming.
Wait a second...Issun's masterpiece being 9 months i can understand, maybe he had already started it. but there is no way Issun could have painted something 100 years ago.
That typo reminds me of the typo at the beginning of Magma Dragoon's stage in MegaMan X4. In that game it calls the Maverick Hunters the "Irregular" Hunters which, for those of you don't know, "Irregular" is the Japanese name for the Mavericks in the MegaMan X series.
These are my favorite kind of videos, there's always those times in videogames, when something really sad happened or something like that, and the tone of voice and how sad Chugga sounds when he's playing them its just amazing, it just adds to the ambiance even more
Honestly, this episode with the somber ambiance has made me decide that I'm going to buy Okami HD when it comes out and eventually get Okamiden afterward. I LOVE the feeling in this particular video and I want to experience it myself now
That's what makes Chugga such a great let's player. He can always make his emotions match the setting of the story, which expresses the mood of the story even more.
Huh, didn't know that about the warp mirror oversight (seems like it's an oversight anyway). I was wondering how you'd be able to get more weapons back at Yakushi Village.
I usually don't rate or judge an episode because I find doing that silly and prefer to enjoy it, but I have to say, the commentary of this episode was fantastically done. Great job Emile
there is a plothole with shakuya and the history scroll. issun could only have planted the history scroll after shakuya came into existence because they met shakuya, however, in okamiden, you create shakuya and the history scroll is already there
Another great vid, Chugga. You didn't seem as upbeat as you usually are, but it fit the mood of the game. I look forward to the next one! Keep up the brilliant work! :)
No, he wasn't a celestial envoy by that point - it was only by the end of the series did he start to paint, and by the start of Okamiden that he'd been distributing his paintings.
Ok. I forgot the gate was sitting there in the forest before Ammy showed up. I was thinking that the gate only appeared in past Kamiki when Ammy used it. Thanks for clearing that up.
*Okami spoilers* Shiranui was in the area long before the events of okami, even in okami people remembered Shiranui. it is implied that Shiranui came with the ark of yamato, and is the only survivor (though it can be considered a theory). in Okami you are also led to believe that Shiranui came through the time gate to save Oki and came back to save Nagi from Orochi. and as I see it, Amaterasu (from okami) came to Kamiki in the past only AFTER Chibi.
He only has maybe two or three dungeons left (it's been a while since I played,) but there's a lot of cutscenes and most of the videos are fairly short, so maybe fifteen to twenty episodes more at the most?
Issun and Amaterasu also travelled to 100 years in the past in the Okami game. Watch chuggaa's LP or look up the story if you want to know all the details
I am very confused as to where exactly in the previous 100 years Chibi and Kurow are. Did they make it there before Amaterasu, Issun, and Oki made it through the gate? And what happened to the two sisters that were the ones who brought that seed to Kamiki?
Yeah, that's who Nagi and Nami were named after, I haven't watched chugga's Okami gameplay but I'm sure he's mentioned that. The names in the Japanese version weren't shortened, either; you had Izanagi and Izanami, also Ushiwaka.
"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually - from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly... timey-wimey... stuff." - The Doctor.
The same way the history scroll did, it happened when they went back- Oh wait, D< Issun didn't paint till the very end of Okami! Though the history scroll was written write before they went back.... which is technically after this...
QUESTION: If Kurow said that shirinui was the first okami, does that mean that each brush god is reincarnated as what ever brush god it was but with a different name? For example, are their different tachigami's? Is there a tachigami named Frank? And if Frank dies, is there a new Tachigami named Ted?
I really like the fact that Kurow helped Susano into interfering with the Orochi battle. Like throughout the entire series Susano is lazy and timid but he's not a bad person. It makes sense for him to be a little (or a lot) scared before facing an 100-year old 8-headed giant snake... Hell I was surprised when Susano came to help me the first time I played Okami.
This episode takes place before Ami went there as you can tell when the sapling was bloomed by Chibi, and in Okami the sapling was already grown and Shakuya was alrady out of the sapling. If Ami has already come to town then that would be a plot hole in the story.
See the whole video, now Chibi can warp between the present and Kamiki Village 100 years into the past with Kamiki's Origin mirror, so you can always come back for it.
@ 10:28 I guess the translator mistook Nami as a nickname instead of her actual name in the game, just a guess at why the translator for Okamiden made the name on the sign Izanami instead of Nami.
In Okami, when you went through the door that made you go back in time, if you looked behind the gate near the sapling, you would see a woman and her little sister planting the sapling. So, Mr. "Grapefruit" couldn't have been trying to plant it.
dude I know literally nothing about the okami series other than what I've seen from chugga's LP's and I still reallly easily managed to find out who this mysterious partner ever was all I did was look up "all okamiden partners" and I found it in seconds
I was wondering, what happens if you run out of ink pots and you lose your divine stripes, but then you go into a cutscene that normally has a character pointing out Chibi's/Ammy's stripes? Does the cutscene go on normally and they still point out the stripes even though you don't have them anymore or what?
Even before he was a Celestial Envoy, he WAS an artist, so its conceivable that he drew and wrote about his adventures with Ammy even before he officially became an Envoy, and then just dropped a couple of scrolls when they themselves were wandering the past. I dunno, it's the only explanation that makes sense to me.
Well, they could have been placed there when Ammy and Issun went back in time in Okami, but then again this is a short time before that again, so... I don't have any good explanations except that Issun might have been able to travel back in time even further during the 9 months time between Okami and Okamiden.
Yes, the series is over. Obviously, because we're in the middle of some crucial storyline. It's only about halfway done. You're not always gonna like the games he LPs but he'll usually put his own spin on things and make it enjoyable.
Yeah. I actually enjoyed it a lot, for it fit the mood quite well. This is just another reason I love chuggaaconroy; he embodies the proper mood of each area/situation with the things he says and the way he says them. (Wow, I said that horribly. This is why I'm saying he's good at it and not me, haha.)
This kinda follows both of those paths. Ammy is Shiranui's child, but at the same time IS Shiranui! This is because Ammy is Shiranui's Reincarnation! Think of it like Majin Buu & Uub from DBZ! when Buu died, he was reincarnated into Uub. When Uub got pissed of at Goku in the world tournament, he gained incredible strength that even impressed Goku far more then he thought it would. Since he was Buu in his past life, some of Buu's traits are passed down to his human counterpart / reincarnation!
I just thought of what could make that make sense. Since Chibi can warp between the past and the present using the save mirrors, maybe Issun just left some Masterpiece pieces in the past? I mean, if Kagu could use the item she gave to Chibi to allow him to warp, maybe Issun got one as well? I mean, I have no idea WHY he would want to return to the past, but hey, maybe he traveled to the past from an even further part of the future?
When we come back to this time in Okami to save the young girl I could have sworn that Sakuya was already bloomed? So why is the gate already there and Sakuya not bloomed yet?
For example, *SPOILERS FOR NARUTO* Hashirama (1st Hokage) and Tobirama (2nd Hokage were glamourized for the stuff they did later in life, but as we're now finding out, they weren't so perfect. The 2nd was impulsive and a bit too mistrustful, and the 1st got depressed easily and had a gambling problem (which Tsunade would inherit as a result of him spoiling her as a kid)
He was Amaterasu's Celestial Envoy the whole game. He just didn't wanna be. He becomes her missionary in the end, but he's been an envoy since he met her.
I'm sure it must have already been pointed out but it should be obvious that at one point an Italian person (who may or may not also be a plumber) was working on the translation. Therefore the sign for Nami would have made perfect sense ...

The voice chugga used for Sakuya drives me insane.-_-
Buttttt its .....funny as hell
10:51, the 'iza' part of the sign might have got rubbed off when ami went there
I like how they the spirit gate that Ammy and Issun went through to get to the past was incorporated in Okamiden, nice touch if you ask me
I hate chugga's voice for young Sakuya.
You ain't alone, dood.
I'm a bit curious what Kurow meant when he said first Okami. Did he just mean that all wolves came into existence because of Shiranui or did he mean wolf god? I'm just wondering since if he just meant wolf then why did they leave the Japanese and capitalize it?
+Larkawolfsgirl Okami can also mean great god I believe
+C10pokefan that was actually what I first thought ookami meant. Yep, I just looked it up and ookami means both wolf and god. The kanji are different, though.
I think it confuses me the most because Amaterasu and Waka were on Nippon for at least 200 years prior to the events of the first game.
DID MRS FRUIT HAVE AN IRON MAIDEN IN HER HOUSE WHAT THE HECK
Were finally at the part where the story starts to get truly moving. I love the music of Kamiki Village 100 years ago. Its so somber and I love somber music.
Legend of Chibi: An Ink to the Past
And now they recycle the plot point of travelling 100 years into the past from Okami...
That PISSED ME OFF too. And that after recycling the first fight against Orochi already. And there I thought the game was going so well.
That's actually a good point there, sir. Although it kinda shocked me when I heard it. I mean, come on! A Sonic fan character's name in an Okami series game? Whoa, didn't see that coming.
2:00 actually yeah, if you connect the dots.
:)
For those who didn't caught on; Chubi is the youth of Amaterasu. (Shranui reborn)
Oh Yeah! Sorry about Grammar (Big Words).
Wait a second...Issun's masterpiece being 9 months i can understand, maybe he had already started it. but there is no way Issun could have painted something 100 years ago.
Maybe when he was briefly there 100 years ago, when they walked through the shrine door?
That typo reminds me of the typo at the beginning of Magma Dragoon's stage in MegaMan X4. In that game it calls the Maverick Hunters the "Irregular" Hunters which, for those of you don't know, "Irregular" is the Japanese name for the Mavericks in the MegaMan X series.

I like how in the beginning that the background was first black but then faded to the art of Kamiki Village 100 yrs. ago. Love that!
Pun Counter: 30
Episodes 1-10: 6
Episodes 11-20: 5
Episodes 21-30: 7
Episodes 31-40: 4
Episodes 41-50: 4
Episodes 51-55: 3
Episode 56: 1
Episode 57: 0
Honestly, this episode with the somber ambiance has made me decide that I'm going to buy Okami HD when it comes out and eventually get Okamiden afterward. I LOVE the feeling in this particular video and I want to experience it myself now
That's what makes Chugga such a great let's player. He can always make his emotions match the setting of the story, which expresses the mood of the story even more.
It's the theme of the area he's in. I'm sure that it'll all be alright. But thumbs up for showing support to one of the greatest LPer's on TH-cam! :d
I haven't seen any of Chuggas videos in my box in a couple days. Good thing i checked his channel!
Chibi lets go ..... Back to the Future!
"A house that is inhabited by a very favorite person of mine in the present time"
anyone else think of Mr. Orange first?
Huh, didn't know that about the warp mirror oversight (seems like it's an oversight anyway). I was wondering how you'd be able to get more weapons back at Yakushi Village.
Wow! I've never seen a video when it was released in the first few seconds. I feel kinda special. It's like an early preview. Lol
I usually don't rate or judge an episode because I find doing that silly and prefer to enjoy it, but I have to say, the commentary of this episode was fantastically done. Great job Emile
there is a plothole with shakuya and the history scroll.
issun could only have planted the history scroll after shakuya came into existence because they met shakuya, however, in okamiden, you create shakuya and the history scroll is already there
I guess you are right but its still easy to click to his channel were he has it organized
How did some of the masterpieces end up 100 years back in time?
Another great vid, Chugga. You didn't seem as upbeat as you usually are, but it fit the mood of the game. I look forward to the next one! Keep up the brilliant work! :)
As soon as I get my 3DSXL 'hopful for christmas' I am going to get this game before the end of the year
What a master peace:)
Chugga! You made Sakuya sound like that Pitchfork from Conker's Bad Fur Day
i think "Mirror of Time" is more fitting.but yours is really good too,and his "A Chibi to the Past" is really cool too.=]
Sakuya looks SO cute when she was born. I guess cuteness can turn into beauty within years
No, he wasn't a celestial envoy by that point - it was only by the end of the series did he start to paint, and by the start of Okamiden that he'd been distributing his paintings.
Ok. I forgot the gate was sitting there in the forest before Ammy showed up. I was thinking that the gate only appeared in past Kamiki when Ammy used it. Thanks for clearing that up.
Wow, I can't believe how depressed you seemed in this episode, dude! It was crazy! That's what I like about you, chuggaa... Such a range of emotions!
I love Kimiki Village 100 years past song. I would pause either my Okami or Okamiden game just to listen to it.
Since I watched Okami I've been waiting for "Shakuya" to appear again because injust love how she looks and how chuggaaconroy makes her voice.
He only has maybe two or three dungeons left (it's been a while since I played,) but there's a lot of cutscenes and most of the videos are fairly short, so maybe fifteen to twenty episodes more at the most?
The Legend Of Okami: An Ink To The Past :D
This song is sooooooo nostalgic for some reason...
Issun and Amaterasu also travelled to 100 years in the past in the Okami game. Watch chuggaa's LP or look up the story if you want to know all the details
Hey Chugga! In Kamiki Village (100 Years Ago) Didn't you notice there was a X on the save mirror?
There's a typo at about 11:33, where Nagi says: "I have a an important task ahead of me." A an important task.
about the izanami sign thingy. I always thought that it meant that kurow or whomever is on your back is horrid at reading or something.
Wow awesome video
I am very confused as to where exactly in the previous 100 years Chibi and Kurow are. Did they make it there before Amaterasu, Issun, and Oki made it through the gate? And what happened to the two sisters that were the ones who brought that seed to Kamiki?

You need to fix the playlist buttons :P Last few aren't working or aren't there at all
The same way the history scroll did, it happened when they went back- Oh wait, D< Issun didn't paint till the very end of Okami!
Though the history scroll was written write before they went back.... which is technically after this...
Ooowww.... The end picture's so cute
@tsukinoakuma actually, it means chibi is a good puppy/god because even though he doesnt have to, he still helps people in need
I love your videos
Maybe the sign was fixed in okami since at that point, ammy hasn't got there yet. And how did those masterpieces get there if that's the case?
@shadowsandbag my friend, he started it when he went back in time with Ammy
QUESTION: If Kurow said that shirinui was the first okami, does that mean that each brush god is reincarnated as what ever brush god it was but with a different name? For example, are their different tachigami's? Is there a tachigami named Frank? And if Frank dies, is there a new Tachigami named Ted?
Chugga what do you think about Pokemon used in new black and white 2 such as the golems?
finally. something good shows up in my sub box today.
OMG SHE IS SO ADORABLE!!!
I have a feeling that was written by Issun's grandpa, as you saw in Okami, he was Shiranui's companion.
Of course, we will have to see.
If you think closely about time travel, if the future is the same when you warp to the present, that means you know for a fact that you win, right?
I really like the fact that Kurow helped Susano into interfering with the Orochi battle. Like throughout the entire series Susano is lazy and timid but he's not a bad person. It makes sense for him to be a little (or a lot) scared before facing an 100-year old 8-headed giant snake... Hell I was surprised when Susano came to help me the first time I played Okami.
Rainwater has a pH of 5.5, so it's slightly acidic. Wasn't the Purification Sake made from spring water? That sake is going to taste terrible.
Chugga! Try holding down on the touchscreen and move down at the same time.
Which in turn came up with the video Nazo Unleashed
@ 10:28 I guess the translator mistook Nami as a nickname instead of her actual name in the game, just a guess at why the translator for Okamiden made the name on the sign Izanami instead of Nami.
In Okami, when you went through the door that made you go back in time, if you looked behind the gate near the sapling, you would see a woman and her little sister planting the sapling. So, Mr. "Grapefruit" couldn't have been trying to plant it.
This is an odd conundrum, You Travel back 9 months back to be sent back 100 years. :p
dude I know literally nothing about the okami series other than what I've seen from chugga's LP's and I still reallly easily managed to find out who this mysterious partner ever was all I did was look up "all okamiden partners" and I found it in seconds

Finally, somebody who realizes how AWESOME he is!
Amaterasu is Shiranui incarnate. She is him. They are the same. This is established in the first 10 minutes of Ōkami.
I love how chuggaa sounds depressed in this video in such a depressing time and place.
Well, they could have been placed there when Ammy and Issun went back in time in Okami, but then again this is a short time before that again, so... I don't have any good explanations except that Issun might have been able to travel back in time even further during the 9 months time between Okami and Okamiden.
Perhaps they were used to test the Temporal Displacement Machine.
the world.may never know,mah boy...the world.may never know...
Yes, the series is over. Obviously, because we're in the middle of some crucial storyline. It's only about halfway done. You're not always gonna like the games he LPs but he'll usually put his own spin on things and make it enjoyable.
Weird you can warp to the present kamiki and back to the past like that, that would have been cool to have in Okami
When Chibi goes to Kamiki 100 Years Ago, it's a little before Ammy, Issun, and Oki came through the Spirit Gate. Lika possibly came after as well.
Does anyone know where wild charge is in white 2? I know in victory road but what room
This kinda follows both of those paths. Ammy is Shiranui's child, but at the same time IS Shiranui! This is because Ammy is Shiranui's Reincarnation!

Shiranui is back!? Awesomeee
There is also a japenese legend about to great deitys named izanami, and izanagi. It's about these two gods who created Japan.
Well it looks like Chibi got there first because in the Okami LP "Shakuya" was already there to greet Ammy and Issun.
Does anyone know where tm wild charge is in victory road in white 2?
Why are there Issun Masterpieces in the past? I thought he made them after his adventures with Ammy?
When we come back to this time in Okami to save the young girl I could have sworn that Sakuya was already bloomed? So why is the gate already there and Sakuya not bloomed yet?
Back then when that Nazo Unleashed animation was considered impressive
For example, *SPOILERS FOR NARUTO* Hashirama (1st Hokage) and Tobirama (2nd Hokage were glamourized for the stuff they did later in life, but as we're now finding out, they weren't so perfect. The 2nd was impulsive and a bit too mistrustful, and the 1st got depressed easily and had a gambling problem (which Tsunade would inherit as a result of him spoiling her as a kid)
I had a white guinea pig with red eyes i cant believe i didnt notice he was a devine beast. Lovely boy... Rip =(
He was Amaterasu's Celestial Envoy the whole game. He just didn't wanna be. He becomes her missionary in the end, but he's been an envoy since he met her.
