I just purchased this rifle. 1 day on the range with a Primary Arms 4-16x44 SLX on it. And let me tell you. For a rifle in 308 and a scope for under 1500.. And to perform the way it did.. Let’s just say I’m more than happy with how I spent my money. Seen the “PSA Rock” in 5.7? PSA has been killin it lately 🤝🏼
I have a gen3 .308 20" with a Precision Armament M41 muzzle brake, Vortex Venom 5-25x56 and a UTG over bore bipod. No muzzle rise and almost no recoil. 100 yards an inch groups with any cheap ammo. I think the fact it weighs 15lbs helps the recoil a bit. Change your brake. The M41 brake does NOT need to be timed.
8.5 pounds is not bad whereas the M-14 Rifle is 8-9 pounds; It is the rifle I trained with in Army basic in 1969/1. The M-14 my first firearm I fired; I did very good firing range qualification. I was 17 years old weighing in at 117 pounds.
Do you do reloads. I'm thinking king about doing that since I have a bolt action in 308 and I'm getting this psa pa10 but in classic look with 18 same length barrel so I'm thinking reloading will be a beer choice once I get all the equipment
Every rifle will be different, you’ll need to try out several different loads/bullet weights. Federal GM762, 175 grain SMK, or Federal Gold medal match .308, 175 or 168 grain SMK would be a good ammo to try. Mine was shooting military M118 LR. Federal GM762 is the commercial equivalent and current ammo used by some military snipers. It’s reasonably priced too.
Thanks for posting this video on Palmetto. Nice job. Was tough to see a guy on his hands and knees to do it though. Buy yourself a cheap 6' plastic table with folding legs for the next one. 😁👍🏻
Thanks for your comments, I’d recommend going directly through Palmetto State Armory. Watch their daily deals, be patient, they turn up often, but sell out quickly.
I do believe that is a 20 position gas block. PSA ships them wide open to except all types of ammo. I have a gen2 and wish mine was adjustable. Also wish I had had that stock, but then again I paid $450 less. Once you find your best ammo type then the adjustment can be made and forgotten. Unless you throw a suppressor on the end.😎 Mine shoots sub moa flawlessly with Federal Sierra Match Kings, in 168gr.

I just ordered a 5.7 PSA rock actually. I've been impressed with my PSA purchases for the price so far.

Thank s for the review.
What ammo would you recommend/have the overall best results with the rifle?

could you try some cheap ammo. I heard that's what the PSA10 likes
Great detailed review! Enjoy.......
Thanks

308win and recoil shouldn't be in the same sentence. What recoil?
I’m talking about recoil relative to other AR-10/SR-25 rifles. Perhaps I didn’t specify that. It’s not the point to say that 308’s are hard recoiling.
@@jcnikoley I got you. Your right.
We’re the groups at the end of the video shot with the muzzle brake installed?
Those targets were with an A2 style birdcage it came with. I’ve shot with the muzzle break, no discernible difference.
Before shooting for groups, did you break-in the barrel?
No break in. These groups were shot immediately after sighting in which were the first shots out of the rifle.
I think I'll get one,if available, 🤔
Thanks for the vid, it was great 👍😀

I really like my Gen 3 PA10.
where did my comments go ? I have one and enjoy it
What kinda groups did your SR25 produce?
Nothing spectacular. 1-1.5” with 168 or 175 SMK.
What break do you have on there?
It’s a dead air .30 cal break.
10 clicks? I thought the gas block was only 5 positions. Good review thanks for the data
Sorry I missed what you said in the beginning
