    If I had my eyes closed it would be like me listening to my own grandmother, us Italians share such a rich history here in the United States. This love goes far beyond politics which have historically differed over the years (Democrat and Republican). I personally disagreed Politically with Mario Cuomo on many of the issues when he was Governor, but always loved him and his lovely wife Matida, because to me they were family, and families don't always see eye to eye. The Cuomo family is the the Italians in this country what the Kennedy's were to the Irish. God Bless them.

    This is beautiful🙅I'm not Italian but have been to Italy and learnt the language a little and it's one of my mother's favorite country! During this carona pandemic a friend from there sent me an orchestra video playing to cheer me up😷🤕⏰ needless to say there are many people playing music on,balconies in Italy to ease the pain there too.😷2020

    Funny how they romanticize over the whole thing. Very poetic. One day Mexican-Americans will read from a similar script.

    • @Orli-g
      @Orli-g 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Why wouldn’t you want to write your own script? What you can do is model yourselves, learn from and emulate the thousands of people who sacrificed, struggled and worked tirelessly to better themselves. Strive to achieve more than who you are and what you desire and then write your script.

      There are a lot of similarities between the Italian-Americans of 100 years ago and the Mexican-Americans of today. Both spoke latin based languages, Catholics both, both gravitated to the manual labor occupations, and both encountered considerable opposition and discrimination upon arrival. There are a lot of similarities there.

    sinfeiners1916 sinister : do not anglicize famous Italian names such as Christopher Columbus. His name was Cristofaro Colombo a Genoese Navigator/Explorer sailing the Atlantic Ocean with the Nina ,Pinta and Santa Maria on behalf of Queen Isabella and king Ferdinand of Spain to find new land for Spain in 1492. Also I may add a few years later in 1497 another Italian navigator sailing for the king of England by the name of John Cabot, excuse me again “Giovanni Caboto” discovered Newfoundland.Go back to school and learn your history.

      doesn't mean they can't be proud of their heritage.
      same can be said of any ethnicity that initially immigrates to the states and the more generations that are born / raised in the states. the language fluency eventually dies out
