Everybody has an opinion. You are entitled to yours. I think I will rely on Shanahan's and Lynch's being possibly more fact based than yours. I'm willing to listen to what might make your opinion/knowledge better than the professionals. Where/how did you gain your football knowledge?
He threw more INT's and bad throws this past season - no argument. However, realize that this year his targets had the worst separation in the league - ranked #32, when in the past years they were ranked at or near the top in separation. And his O-line had a lot of backups, i.e. worse pass protection. And the 49ers Special Teams were also the worst in the league this year, ranked #32, so Purdy had to play with poor field position all year and with Moody missing key FG's and conversion kicks that even lost some games. And the defense has been near the bottom this past year in run stopping. So, he's been forced to take bigger risks with less time and protection, from generally bad field position. OF COURSE he's going to throw more INT's and have some bad throws in the reality of the conditions. And despite that, he moved the ball all year efficiently, resulting in the 7th highest QBR. In a bad year he's shown that his floor is relatively high. And in 2023 he showed a high ceiling, losing the SB only in the last minute of an overtime quarter against the currently accepted top QB in the league. He broke franchise, NFC conference and NFL records his first full season, and came out of a very bad season with very good QB numbers. Anyone denying this just isn't being honest.
@@admtahoe does anyone ever take into account that some of those receivers ran the wrong route? He throws with anticipation. A lot of the receiver issues come with reps, not necessarily skill.
Purdy's agent has to be paying Dave Lombardi. He just completely ignores this whole season where we've seen Purdy choke multiple times in the 4th quarter. Serious question, you always talk about Prescott, Love, Murray, and the "market" for QBs yet why do you always ignore Baker Mayfield? We all know those guys are grossly overpaid for their value, but what about Mayfield? Is Purdy 2X better than Mayfield? I personally think Baker Mayfield at this stage of his career and maturity is better than Purdy. Why can't Purdy get a contract like Mayfield? Another question is, if Sam Darnold's value has collapsed so badly, is Darnold at $15-20M plus $40M for other players worth less than Purdy at $60M and Niners being capped?
I'd take Purdy over Mayfield. I think 2024 was Mayfield's career best year. I think 2023 was Purdy's career best year. I believe Purdy's 2023 was better than Mayfield's 2024, i.e. Purdy's best is better than Mayfield's best. Conversely, 2024 was Purdy's worst year and (I think) 2022? was Mayfield's worst season. And Mayfield's worst was worse than Purdy's worst. So if you're looking at their ceilings or their floors, Purdy's better. Same with Darnold and most of the other NFL QB's. Also, I wouldn't describe Purdy as choking multiple times. He had missing weapons all year and the 49ers had the least aggregate and average rest between games by FAR than any other team. They ranked 32 - bottom of the league - in Wide Receiver separation, where previous years they ranked near the top in separation. That is, Purdy was forced to throw into tighter windows this year than ever before, and with backups in the O-line for pass protection. It was a year where he had to take more risks than ever before, which of course led to more INT's. He for sure made some bad throws this year - more than previous years; I'm not denying that. Just pointing out that even with that he still had high efficiency stats and landed in the top 10 QBR. Special Teams was horrendous and also at the very bottom of the NFL at #32, so he was fighting poor ball position all year not to mention Moody missing so many FG's and even TD conversions, some game-losing. Purdy moved the ball well all season despite RB's 1-4 injured. At his worst it still resulted in well above average QB stats.
Completely agree with you and I like Brock Purdy but I'm realistic he's not elite quarterback he needs everything to be perfect to perform better he can't throw deep he can't play in weather conditions that's thats a 25 35 I won't even put him in the millions numbers

@@miguelalvarez4342 "Needs everything to be perfect..." It's never perfect in the NFL, for any QB. Even for Mahomes, who's been the back-to-back SB winning QB it's never been perfect. "Can't throw deep." He literally led the league in 2023, and in fact broke and reset the NFL record for highest deep pass (>20 yds) Cmpl%, by a LOT (63.8%; prev. record 55%). "Can't play in weather conditions..." He played his college ball, setting records, in Iowa (where there is plenty of weather conditions). I agree that among NFL QB's he's so far not shown himself to be a top all-weather ball handler. He's not performed as well in weather conditions. But "can't" play is a ridiculous statement.

Imagine taking a pay cut because your coworkers didn’t show up.
@@byronsmith3152 Yeah, and the missed extra point, botched punt return and CMC fumble were the primary reasons the 49ers didn't win that Super Bowl.
Sorry, he's not worth 50 plus mil..let him play out his contract, draft a rookie,.and sign a veteran. He's in no position to demand that type of money. He can't carry a team. That's Lamar Jackson/Josh Allen/Pat Mahomes/Joe Burrow type money. Sorry, he's not in that category.
Who the fuck else is going to play QB for the 49ers then, my man.
@@PermanentMidnightThank you. Everyone wants to be the gm. Let lynch do his job. Regardless of the numbers, sanfran specifically lynch does well with contracts. Player gets paid but niners usually aren't stuck long term. We got 55 million in cap room. One of the top numbers in the league. Furthermore when are we ever stuck with large dead money cap hits, pretty much never! The dollars really don't matter as long as the talent sticks around and the cap is managed well which they do. Some fans just don't seem to get it, always trying to compare giant contracts without any consideration for the actual cap numbers.
What an awful take... is that you, Nick Wright?
50 mil is not much in today's market, let alone in a couple of years. Hurts, Tua, Dan, Love, are all currently in the 50 mil area.
@@Scott-j9o 50 mil is top QB money. Just because that is the market doesn't mean you have to give Purdy that money. He's not Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen.
Purdy is top 3...
Not this year
I like Purdy, but you can't convince me he's top 3. Which 2 of these guys are you ranking him above: Allen? Mahomes? Jackson? Burrows?
Purdy is good and should get paid well but the structure should be improved for paying these players instead of just guaranteed money like Jordan love and Dak Prescott insane giving them guys that I sure wouldn't have there should be some kind of incentive plan having to work there way up like any job reviews and pay raises instead of guaranteed money and then they turn out to be flops. 🏈🤜🤛
Could all of you just how amazing he could be if he had at least the front line of the top paid Qbs. Besides Trent and now Puni , nothing but holes.
Top7 paid qbs didn't make the playoffs
