This song reminds me of warriors riding horseback into a battle against dragons, flying those dragons to a castle, and overthrowing a corrupt king and taking his place.
This is a song worthy of remembering the lyrics. Besides...mess-up your friends when you recite the lyrics of this song. That's the great thing about songs, everyone can interpret it how they want. To me the song speaks of addiction. The Royal We as in King Baby syndrome or I want what I want when I want it. It all fits to me but it would being an addict who's been clean for years now. I might be clean but I'm always looking over my shoulder and constantly on guard lest I slip and wind up on the floor again. Not sure I'd be able to get back up this time.
Jamie Pinson, you're absolutely spot on! This song isn't about love, ideology, or anything superficial. This is a very strong articulated song about getting a taste of heroine and knowing the result before the effects, due to the long line of strewn bodies it's claimed. Falling in love with it is always easy. Looking over your shoulder is a symptom, not unlike waking up to a sideways room. The "FLOW" is the lie!
I keep missing them in concert. Actually had the chance in Reno about 6 months ago. Stupid, Stupid me. None of my friends appreciate good music. So into mainstream I could barf. Guess I'll have to be a Big Girl and Go It Alone.
