I studied Architecture and we are taught, that trees are natural sound barrier. If good offset taken of the highway for lush geen trees of different size its makes air noise to the highway. If you want to see what i am talking about just look at Noida - greater noida expressway.
Noise barrier should be installed on elevated corridors in the forest area so that nature doesn’t get disturbed or much damaged due to such high noise pollution

yesterday i travelled between chennai and bangalore by car. Pathetic NH. Around 6-7 months before when i travelled there were some road works going on. Not even 1% progressed. Poth holes, suddenly road vanishes and diversions, no lightings etc. Extremely dangerour. Gadkari is waiting for a major accident to happen it seems. Not even a single major road project in south india. All old wornout railway coaches are sent to South India where 90% of travellers take ticket contrary to North india. If this partiality continues then better to demand for separate country. Sad..

Why they are fixing clear transparent sheets for sound barrier? What do the look like after a month . Full of dust and ugly looking . Did they not think about opaque sheets ,at least dust would not be so visible.

Yeah.Avenue plantation also provided in expressway but where elevated structure.This should helpful.
